Forgotten vista password, can still access acount with fingerprint

Hello!

As title really. I've forgotten the password to my vista account. I can still access the account as it has fingerprint recognition, however due to my frequent climbing my fingerprints aren't very reliable (I often wear a patch of skin away on the finger and then can't turn my computer on until it heals). I've taken to always taping my login fingers now, but it's a bit of a hassle!

Anyway, what I obviously want to know is that seeing I can still get into the account, is there anyway to reset my password??? I've created an alternate admin login for the moment as well just encase, but I'd much prefer it if I could carry on using my current account!

Any help much appreciated!

Just log in as the admin account and change your password from there, you won't need to know the original one if you do it that way.

does the EBCD reset user passwords the same as XP?

I have tried that but it asks for the original password before it will let me make any changes.

How are you trying to change it? Try right clicking my computer, going to manage then expanding the top bit until you get to users. Right click the user and change password.

use this live cd

http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/

will tell you what the password is, or use the other admin account to change your password

or open a command prompt

net user USERNAME *

that will let you change your password without supplying the old one.

Thank you all for your help, in the end I went for marc2003's solution as it seemed the quickest and it worked perfectly!
