Wii Why so expensive

It's not dissapointing at all to be honest. They will sell them to those who don't want to look elsewhere, and at the end of the day, if you're that desperate for one but don't want to pay all OCUK are doing is driving you to competitors.

personally, suppliers that are charging £300+ for a RRP of £179 is shocking, and they'll lose some of my business in the future

thats the point im trying to make, I have always been a loyal ocuk customer and have bought everything for my computers from ocuk for years even if they have been slightly more expensive, due to them being a good company that put thier customers first.

But pulling something like this is just extorting loyal customers.

I know I dont have to buy it and I wont.
It has just changed my opinion of OCUK and I will no longer be so loyal to them in the future.

It's called supply & demand mate, fact is with stock being so limited on the wii, the market has bumped up it's average price for selling on the console. If you think about it, if a company is limited to a certain amount of stock, to make up for the lack of units sold the price has to be bumped up to retain a certain level of revenue from that line of products. At the end of the day it's a business and it's there to make money. I wouldn't hold it against them!

I know they don't last long, but there have been so many threads on this already you would think everyone would have caught one of them already.

Its like being back in november 2005 where people were paying stupid money for xbox360 when it was launched we now have this happening on a certain site with the wii .

i say fair enough to those businesses, in this time of supply and extreme demand, to sell Wii's in big bundles with lots of games..

but not just the basic pack

I believe OcUK said they have actually had to pay a higher wholesale price to purchase the stock, hence the higher retail price. Same is true for several other competitors.

And at the very same end of the day, if he wants to withdraw his desire to purchase from OcUK again, because of the inflated price on the Wiis, he has every right to. Supply and demand works both ways. If a company is seen as overpriced, people will shop there less.

^begs the question, if a seller is charging above the rrp for Wii's which are available elsewhere, are they charging extra for other items which are available elsewhere? This style of selling does, I think - for me anyway, encourage people to shop around across all product ranges in the long run and could end up losing the seller money.
