Not really in fact the 2900xt is right up there with the gt and gts in actual gaming performance

your looking in the region of 10fps increase in crysis

bit more / less depending on resolution. £230 is a lot for 10 fps !

less at lower resolutions though. its only about 13 fps difference at 1920 x 1080

£230 + is a lot for 13fps. You'd have to get £180 + for your 2900 XT to make it worth it.

I had a 2900XT and I can tell you the 8800GT for me was a big upgrade from the 2900XT, it was like a breath of fresh air coming from a 2900XT to an 8800GT.

What I would do is keep the 2900 tho as the 9800's are so close, or flog it for as much as possilble now, get a cheapo backup card and wait.

Not worth it, save your money for the next generation which will come out around february time, the 2900 will more than cope till then.

I agree. I flogged mycrossfire pair of 2900's and XT and a Pro flashed to XT. Got just over £300 in return and bought a 3850pro for £90 to tide me over. When overclocked the 3850 returns a 3DMark06 score equivelent to the 2900XT.

By all reports the new 8800GTS thrashes the 3850 and beats the 3870 by a good margin also.
