Hello all.
I'm looking to upgrade my 6680 to either an N73 or 6110.

N73 has a decent camera, is cheaper, isn't really a slider phone.
6110 has GPS, can perhaps support an HCSD card, 16.7 mil colour screen and is newer so should be more powerful.

Is there really a noticeable difference between the 262k and 16.7m colour screens?

All help is appreciated!

Because they're the two I have decided, i'm just not a fan of other manufacturers, the N95 is too expensive and the N82 is just plain fugly.

Well, from what i've read, the N73 music edition is black and has a media button.

The software etc is EXACTLY the same as the normal N73.

The only differences are colour and 1 button.

N73 on o2 is around £140
6110 Sim free is around £280

If anyone owns an N73 or 6110, can you post how you've found it and is it worth the £££

ive got the n73...and well....i cant wait to recieve my new phone on friday....

i definately would not recommend it, when i first got it it was alright, but then it gets extremely slow to do ANYTHING, the middle joystick thing always falls off, its a common problem, and now it has decided to stop vibrating, and doesnt even tell me when i have a new txt, i have to go into my inbox to find out, which takes AGES. Also the front camera doesnt work properly.

you might not have the same probs...but the phone is over a year old....there are better phones out now

It does happen, my 6680 seems to being a pain just recently, i'll turn it off and on and then receive texts from days gone by.

I've used both and I'm not sure which one I prefer really. The camera and screen on the N73 are better and I prefer the candy bar form factor. Having said that, the 6110 runs a later version of Symbian (v9.2), has HSDPA and its slider mechanism is very solid.

Depends whether you want to take photos or use sat nav, I guess. The 6110 would also be better for web-browsing.

Like i say, there's a big difference in price too.

Is the 6110's any better than the N73's and do you think the 6110 can take 4gb or 8gb HCSD cards?

SanDisk reckon the 6110 supports SDHC cards.

Is it worth £140 extra? Having an unlocked, unbranded phone is worth an extra couple of quid to me. I can't really answer this question. :)

Well the good news is I have seen T-Mobile now selling the n73 including call credit for £99.00 PAYGO. I am using the N73 music edition and for the price it is a very good functional phone. I am also using navicore sat nav on it which cost £30.00 so I am well chuffed.

What the difference between the standard N73 and the N73 Music Edition ??

Nothing really.

Different fascia, thats about it. Think it comes with a memory card too.

I had the N73 ME firmware loaded on my vanilla n73 when I had it.

I belive Nokia have made all there N series phones have the same music player now? I.e they used to have a vanilla music player and a ME music player.

The reason I got a new phone was because I lost my old one :p

Also, as stated in this thread already. The joystick does go **** up after a fair few months of having it. Mine started going naff after around 7 months. Happens with most joystick phones though.

The joystick issue can be remedied with a new keypad can't it!?

Yes you can buy a new keypad membrane with the joystick attached from ebay. I was going to do that myself before I lost my phone. They were going for around £18.
The black fascias that I bought too wernt too bad either. I had to buy a new screen though as I accidently cracked the screen when taking it out  lol.
