In conjuction with units in the other thread, what about the best military equipment/hardware?

M82A1
I would say this is one of the best pieces of equipment this century, can hit targets from a huge distance and velocity.

You would be able to hit something 1.8 kilometers away accurately, but you can launch the projectile up to 6km away if needed!

AH-64 Apache Longbow

Just an awesome piece of kit, really amazes me with all the sensors and radar technology aboard.

Lastly, I believe that this is the finest idea of the lot!

Id have to say the Bullet Proof vest.

They have probably saved thousands of lives

Kalashnikov AK-47 FACT

it is the most reliable automatic weapon out there and has been for the past 50 years. It was used by the Chinese and North Koreans during the Korean War. When American automatic weapons become clogged from mud/snow, the AK47 just keeps firing. Even in Russian winter.

How can you say that? its accuracy is pure fail alone.

Hes got a point though.

It cheap, Its reliable, Its pretty easily made, A lot of people and Armys use them and create them.
They would have to be up there somewhere.

I'm gonna have to say the AK-47 too. Over 50 years old, cheap as chips and sis still probably the most used firearm on the planet.

How can you say that? its accuracy is pure fail alone.

accuracy is around 300m i belive the US doesn't use them because of its inaccuracy. When fired in full auto, the bolt inside rattles around, causing the firing pin to go all over the place. We all know the americans are trigger happy, when not killing their own in FF

so sum might say the M16A2 but only in skilled hands.

The hydrogen bomb.

Say what you like about the inherent evil of producing a weapon capable of annhiliating 20 million lives in a fraction of a second (you will be correct...), but the fear of total destruction that they bring has kept the world from full-scale conflict for over 60 years. Diplomacy has become the only option, where previously it would have been conflict. For me, this makes it a 'greater' piece of military hardware than any ship, aircraft or gun.

Id like to change this

The shield is nice and all, but what makes it work is the shieldwall one of the most influential tactics ever adopted

as i stated in the other thread "personally i think the phalanx formation possibly the best formation any military unit can adopt with huge discipline is the most successful EVER to create a nearly impenetrable defense"

^

what he said.

(You can get an AK-47 for less than $20 in some countries while somebody would have to pay over $1,000 for an M-16 and the M-16A4 would be even more expensive if one could get one at all.)
