Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

Saddens me, be it jokefull with a bit of spite but the signs of another thread getting ruined.

Is this more hints at format war fanboys?
Recently weve had theirs no porsche, lambo or comments like its just a demo.
Is that the things you feel you have to say regards one of the biggest releases the PS3 has had?

Why is it theirs always so many sly comments in these forums when actually something darn bleeding good appears for the PS3. Most would be happy to hear about peoples reactions to the release, excited or be content that so far it seems GT5 is on the right tracks to be a stellar title.

Instead we get moaners who want to nit pick and find things that are missing from the game to turn them into points for debate. Ratherthan discuss the game at hand and the expectations some have held for it.

Comments regards cars should be towards what the actual game at this time does have, whats handling like, does it differ from other GT games and the cars in the game are they likely to be competitive and offer good racing.

No instead we can talk about what the game doesnt have or what it could have, or might have.
Pointless

Don't forget it's only a "glorified demo" we can't have everything, it's possible they haven't even modelled the Porsche's yet.

Prologue is a just a platform for testing the online system and getting some feedback, it should make for a better final product.

I realise that - I was just commenting that there are a lot of very similar cars

ie Is it really necessary to have 5 choices of effectively the same car, why not have a slightly smaller group of cars that are completely different from one another :)

Mr Latte - I am very pro GT5, it wasnt any sniping on my part commenting about no RUF's but the above does annoy me - I hope the game (even a pre-release taster) is as good as it should be, I just think the variance of the cars could be a little better is all - surely thats a valid point of view?

I actually prefer GT to FM or Gotham, I was just voicing a disappointment was all - (-:

Since when was Prologue announced as a BETA test bed for online or anything else?

Its a released and finished product representing very closely what the final product will offer.
Personally i dont call that a demo guys. To me a demo is something thats very brief and limited, this isnt.

For fans of the series or indeed good game hungry PS3 owners its a winner

I find it amusing that just because I express disappointment in the fact there are no Lambo's in the game that makes me a fanboy, I just wonder a fanboy of what exactly? I own a Wii, PS3, 360, PSP, DS and I have a dreamcast in the loft to so take your pick. I guess you can't express an opinion on anything these days you just have to be happy about everything.

Ive not directly called anyone anything.
What was mentioned was that the thread has some pointless things said which have been and are still being talked about. Stop taking it so personal its not, its just why ruin the thread with pointless arguments.

If your so interested in the game that your here reading it then ask people that are playing it some things about it.
It probably going to be more interesting.

can some1 please tell me if you can do donuts on the tarmac as iirc i could not do them in gt4 with a 600bhp supra tc off. thanks

Back On Topic:-

I've just played it.

I managed one and a half laps around London, in a Golf GTi ;) and then the phone rang, and 45 mins later, I'm now done with that phonecall, and can try again.

But, in that lap and a half, I have to say, I wore a bloody big smile on my face. A bloody BIG smile, whilst thinking "wow, I can't wait to try the rest" like I wish I could've played all the tracks at once, because I can't wait to try them individually.

I'm going to HAVE to try to navigate the Japanese options screen though, as at the moment, I have the default X to accelarate setup, and I hate it. Before I got the PS3, whenever I played on GT on the PS2 I used to always use X, but now I've got used to the triggers, I prefer controlling the speed that way. Can't be too hard, I'll just look at whatever has got an X beside it now, and change to R2, and whatever has a square, to R1. Not sure what those do at the moment.... nothing that I could tell during my quick go, maybe gear changing? I had auto gearbox anyway.

So, fantastic, enough typing, time for another blast around London, and then try some other tracks.

oh, and by the way, yes, I did spot the odd bit of tearing too! London has quite a few slow, sharp corners, and when you swing it around, tearing is sometimes visible, though nothing intrusive. I've seen worse in other games.

V1N.

EDIT: Oh, and I noticed there are already some GTTV options available for download. Has anybody tried these? All in Japanese I guess? Phew, just loaded the game again, it it's running a kind of demo loop while I'm typing this, it's bloody stunning! The extra sharpness is immediately evident. I know it's not technically full 1080p, as in 1920x1080, and there's nothing at all wrong with 720p, that looks great too, but when you load this, it's just right in your face how much sharper it is!

EDIT2:

Erm

Nope, can't look at what is currently selected under X, to set it for R2, you scroll around until you get to the button you want to change, and get a pull down menu from the button, to assign a control to it. D'oh! I didn't realise GT came with puzzles as well ;)

Haven't thoroughly read the thread, but is the Top Gear track going to make it in to the prologue or are they keeping it for the final release?

Doesn't seem significant enough to warrant holding it back, surely, please, I hope not.. :p

rp2000 have you done the Swift Trial at Suzuka.

Basically guys, a Suzuki Swift 9 mins on the clock and you have to do the best time possible for Suzuka Short. I can only achieve a SIlver in this challenge and even thats driving the absolute ball bearings outta this little car.

Handling in this game is really excellent, and weve played this track to death over the years since F355 yet its great fun!

May be of use.

I started with the Integra

Same here, thinks its about 2.75 million? Soon got my money back in the first few sunday cup races. A nice silver one lol, I see the with the in car view the driver now shifts up and down the gears, im sure it didnt happen in the demo. Also im sure i noticed reflections in the honda badge in the steering wheel or did i imagine that. Cant wait to get back home and play it!!

I actually find the incar view in this much more playable than say PGR4

Got into the B CLass races now
Nice to see some of the "Time Trial" challenges are very hard to get a GOLD. Ive yet to get better than silver.
