Hi there

It is 735MHz Core and 1960MHz Memory, so as its GDDR3 with better latencies its performance will no doubt be very close to 3870 or same.

just seen benchies for it and pretty pointless near gt price and gt it a lot faster.pay 18 quid get the gt and thats ocuk prices.
 
I must admit it looks better than all the other ATi cards tho lol with that nice AC cooler on and the blue PCB :p
 
have to agree, most 3850's hit those clocks anywho even on stock cooling. mine does ( albeit 256mb version ) and never pops it's peepers above 63 degres after an hour of UT3. bonny card but poor value ( not a dig at OCUK btw )

Yep I did have it out with HIS at the time and the they could do me was $5 cheaper than HD 3870 XT. Their argument is the product has a guaranteed overclock, an improved cooler and comes with a special HIS Screwdriver/torch, yes the Chinese do like gimmicks and believe it adds lots of value.

Based on feedback here I am lowering the price by £10+VAT which improves it quite a bit and it will fill a gap especially with the shortages on HD 3870 at present though OcUK does have stock of 3870 at present.

the PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro Extreme Silent 512MB you have in is better value but then again, the screwdriver and tourch must make up that 12 quid :p.
 
Gibbo point them to this thread as a screwdriver and a torch really arn't useful. All of us have screwdrivers to put the computer together in the first place and even my phone has a light.

Too much TBH.
 
I think a 3870 is better than this?

HD3850 at 256MB and below £100 is the strength of that GPU, if you want 512MB Radeon then the HD3870 is the one, however for the price of the more expensive Radeon you are in spitting distance of the 8800GT.

£152.74 inc VAT for a 512MB HD3850 :confused:

I just don't see a place for this particular product in todays market?
