Ok on the forums i see people bragging about how they have 4 graphics cards in ther rig and a lot of other stuff that is extremely pricey, now what normal type of person can afford these things, its taken me the better part of year to get the stuff in my sig and i see the same people upgrading every other month, what do they do, sell drugs ?
Seriously its totally sad that someone could spend tens of thousands a year on pc parts.

They just earn more than you and therefore can afford to spend more on PCs than you do?

Don't be jealous, it's not nice.

perhaps they make more money than you

perhaps they have more disposable income than you

perhaps they choose to apportion a greater amount of their income of such things

it's not sad that someone might spend such amounts like you suggest since you know not of their wealth. they might suggest that saving so readily for just pc parts is sad.

incidentally i don'tbuy pc parts at all and barely know how to turn one on let alone troubleshoot or overclock.

dont forget that people who upgrade every month can sell their old stuff second hand, and since it will only be a few months old, theres a good chance of it selling, and if you know where to sell and how to sell, you can get a good price for it too. This significantly reduces the overall cost of upgrading

Some of the members on here are quite heavily into their computers. Do you have any other interests or hobbies you spend money on frequently? If so, use the money you spend on that to fund your computer upgrades and then you'll get an idea of just how serious some people get with computing. :p

....Does that make any sense actually? :o

There are many possibilities but many of the people on this forum still live with their parents lol so don't have rent / mortgages etc :). I put as much money as I can into property and no matter how much I ever earn I'll never be spending more than a grand a year on PCs.

Really depends what you want to spend your money on, if you don't have the spare money then you're probably spending it things the nerds don't or you earn less, or they still live with their parents so all their money goes on the stuff they want.

Why is it sad though?

Most people would be using a credit card I gaurentee it. I used to until I cut it up. Upgrades ain't as fast though but I would say 1 every 3 months depends what I'm doing on it. My Last upgrade was yesturday Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse (Dell). Got it half price so that's why I bought it.

and yeh... I bet most people on this forum still live with their parents, I don't totally independant.

Alough there is a lot of money wasted on computers. I see it all the time people specing up the wrong specification too over powered for their needs wasting money.

I learnt a very valuable lesson with money not to spend it willy nilly.

Little boys don't grow up.

Their (perhaps I should say our:) ) toys just get more expensive.

Cars, Hi-Fi, Photography, you name it and we can spend vastly more on it than is necessary for mere functionality.

Ok well i didnt mean to make such a fuss, dont get me wrong if i was single id spend it mostly on pc parts lol but i have a girlfriend so i cant.
