money question

lol - look at your sig - its a hell of a lot better than my PC (although i can afford a better one if i want - i choose not to)

Ok well i didnt mean to make such a fuss, dont get me wrong if i was single id spend it mostly on pc parts lol but i have a girlfriend so i cant.

You can't? You've splashed out on a physics card ffs!

Seems like one of those attention seeking threads...

"how do people afford things, i can't... all i have is (insert top end product/s here), my life isn't worth living"

and yeh... I bet most people on this forum still live with their parents, I don't totally independant.

I'm not so sure.
Typically when you look at the main page, under the "Today's Birthdays" bit there are often more people over 21 listed than under 21. Of course, some >21s live with parents but then some <21s don't - any maybe people lie about their year of birth. But in general having been on this forum for quite a few years now I would say that that there are quite a lot of people on here in the 25-35 age bracket, most of whom don't live with parents.

This particular subforum (GD) perhaps isn't the most indicative because you do seem to get a higher proportion of teenagers and/or students in here.

I agree totally with you there but the amount of money wasted on pc's are still rediculus.

A lot of people on these forums still live with there parents. That means they can easily have £1000 a month disposable income. Then you have people with different priorities and the rich.

I agree totally with you there but the amount of money wasted on pc's are still ridiculous.

People 'waste' money on all sorts of things (debt, smoking, drinking, Christmas (buying rubbish they don't need))

I would never buy the absolute latest hardware, because it's just not good value for money. Some people have spare income and are able to, good for them.

Would you go onto a photography forum and bitch about how much they spend on camera gear? This is primarily a computer forum, therefore it is largely populated by enthusiasts.

Then again, looking at your sig, this seems to be nothing more than a 'look at me' thread, as the rig you have is hardly archaic.

All depends on someone's income, how much money they have to spare once bills are paid and how enthusiastic one is about computers. I spend the bulk of my spare money on computer parts because I enjoy upgrading and playing around with my computer. It's just like a hobby, plus I use it for gaming and other stuff so it does need high-end components in it.

Some people spend all of their money on it.

Some still live at home with their parents.

Some just earn loads.

it takes all kinds to make a world.

I have a mate who is now a multi-millionaire.

He doesn't have a PC in his house, hates computers and knows nothing about the internet or PCs in general(even though he is 38)

He does however spend £250 every 2 weeks or so on a 1 bottle of whiskey.

Now, what would you say is worse.

They just live in a small house with no furniture, landline, gas or water. Don't eat or drink much, just work and play on there pc.

;)
