8800Gtx - low fps

Make sure when running 3D Marks 06 you have high performance texture quality and FSAA and AF off... your scores are consistant with having them on...

If you still get around that low - I would check that you do actually have both cores working - does the CPU graph in task manager show 2 graphs?

Ye i have two graphs in task manager .. Ill try the other settings now

**These are the settings i ran it on..

That looks about right, 8800GTS 640 scores about same with an o/c 2.8ghz 4200+ in my brothers system. o/c the CPU to 2.75 to 2.8 and the cpu score will be around 2000, which will bump the overall score a fair bit.

8800GTx on 6.14.11.6909 <- Driver version ... Aint got an XP disk :(

Go install the latest 169.21 drivers or w/e the latest are on NV's site and tell me.

Go buy XP or something or however you got XP you need to re install sometime.

His score is not right, he has an 8800GTX, my old rig got 7300 with a GTS 640 @ 650/2.2 and a 3700+ single core @ 2.8Ghz.

That's very dodgy performance, when I had a single core Athlon 3000+ @ 2Ghz and a 7900GT I got like 100+ fps on the stress test at 1440x900 with all on High and 4xMSAA.

nVidia control panel, make sure it's running in performance mode and not quality.

Would do, but the icon has gone from the taskbar ... Lol

**Edit** Jus changed it from Quality to performance ... Shall i run 3dMark06 again ?

Those scores are not right, a GTX scores more than a GTS.

Yes but not with that CPU, the diff for me when bench 3dmark test using GTS 640 with 4800+ (my old CPU) was 8500'ish > Dual Core 6600 10700'ish > Quad 12000'sh. Here's my bro's 3dmark and OP's >

The only thing odd with OP's score is the SM2.0 result, its tad low. Ok granted not same gfx card, but i know for sure the 4200 at stock will hold such a grunty card as GTX back fair bit...
