8800Gtx - low fps

For an 8800GTX there should be at least another 1000 3dmarks there.

No need for BOLD  aware what's in OP's pc, but once again the CPU is the problem, plenty more example's of why, the sm 2.0 score is down thnaks to CPU, go take a glance at 3dmark06 thread >

"10588 | Voo | amd athlon 64 x2 6000+ @ 3014mhz | nvidia 8800gtx 768mb @ 600/1800"

Would'nt go that far but at stock CPU's not helping, most 4200+ will be good for 2.7ghz at least and you will see high 8000's maybe with that or o/c your GTX and should push be able to push 10,000. Tbh....3dmark is not a true reflection of ingame peformance as we all know.

Im not trying to i'll advise you, just stop you waisting your time messing about for no reason. :)

Ye i get what u mean, but when i shell'd out for the GTX i thought Happy Thoughts ! Lol, its not comming true atm :(

I'd rather just buy new stuff / a lot better than O'C as i dont know enough to do it lol

Well I dont think they are right and would be expecting an extra 1000 marks on top of those for an 8800GTX if it was performing right, the AMD CPU's cant be that slow..

Cost a lot less though :) The gfx card easy overclock, as i understand it and going by a thread in this section while back; Expertool (Gainwards tool) works fine with all GTS/GTX cards and easy to use, just ask people what the safe o/c limit is for GTX >

Lol i know but i was thinking about some new stuff since buying the gtx :D I've just been really curious on why its not performing like it should do :(

I'd be incline to agree...however built silly amounts of 4200+ & 3800+ PC's during the year to varying levels of spec (inc using GTX); imo OP's scores are more or less on the money for stock clocks.
