2008-09 A1GP Car to be built by Ferrari!

Just watchin some late nite sports, and found out that the A1GP car next year will be developed by Ferrari. Emerson Fitipaldi will get to test it too. He describes it as a Dream Car, the speed of an F1 car, but with zero electronic aids, massive fat tyres, much less aerodynamic grip, and should mean peoper overtaking! what the F1 cars of the 70's were like!

If this works how they plan, it could mean that A1GP finally gets out of its late night/early morning Sky Sports slots and onto prime time TV. A Motorsport with the speed of F1, but some proper overtaking and battles! souonds like heaven!
 
yeah, I only have freeview (and not all the channels at that) in Uni, so the only time I see any A1GP (or Autosport mag for that matter) is when I come home. The racing is good, but its just let down by the coverage! Sky Sports limits the audience to Sky Sports fans, and those who are prepaired to buy the sports package and suffer the 90% football, and it always seems to be on at supid times?

But with a big name like Ferrari involved, im sure this will change. They arent going to want to put their name on something no one is going to see.

If i remember correctly its not actually Ferrari building them although it is a company thats in the Fiat group.
 
Yeah, been reading about it. Will hopefully be based on the F2007, developed by Ferrari, but build by someone else. Although they will run with Ferrari branding, at least on the engin as they have the licence to use the "Powered by Ferrari" slogan.

The new A2GP series will have an engin badged as someone else within the FIAT group, but most likely not Ferrari... Who else doe FIAT own that they need to push?

A1GP is shown live, so the time its shown at depends on the local time zone for the race being broadcast.
