niiiiice!!!!

Got other things on the list this year, but got loads of tools last year and been collecting them throughout the year, love tools!! Not quite as much as you it may seem :D

I'm getting a decent cordless drill this year too. Finally given up on the cheap crap one that I had. Nothing quite as expensive as that lot though.

Very nice, cordless drill's are one area where it really pays to get a good one.

Not going for any new tools myself mind, pretty well stocked up now.

When did all this 'I've just ordered my own Christmas present' stuff start?

Defeats the whole object IMHO.

I've always done it, I'm the orginal humbug, only person who I actually buy presents for (rather than family buying their own!) is my girlfriend :p

lol would you seriously let your GF order a cordless drill or anything automotive/electrical for that matter? If the answer is yes then I am worried about your girlfriend as I have never met a women capable of buying anything like this unless she had it written down for her on a piece of paper.;)

Probably at the point that asking for 'a decent drill' from your parents would end up with a £200 Argos job, or a asking for a TV would land you with a 15" HongSing CRT with built in VCR.

I give her a list of stuff I'd like with detailed descriptions and let her pick :p

Last time i asked for a power tool without giving guidance i ended up receiving a "challenge" circular saw :/ Awesome bit of kit, not.

It's much better to say "I want this" and then know that you're getting something you'll use, than playing Russian Roulette and potentially get something you're going to leave at the back of a cupboard.

I'm getting a set of 3/8 drive BluePoint tools from my dad - ratchet, knuckle bar, 3x extension bars, UJ, and a large selection of sockets, identical to the one he got himself a few months ago. Now that I'm about to start work on my Anglia, it'll be good to have my own set of tools to use, rather than stealing his all the time, typically whilst he's trying to use them too! ;)

I need one of my trees removing, so I have ordered one of these.

Should do the job, though bit worried it might be a little over the top.

Don't be silly. This is the internet, going over the top is not possible.

And on that note I'm off to fit 10 pot liquid nitrogen cooled calipers and carbon discs to my Peugeot 205.
