'Make Me A Muslim' - More Channel 4 Dross

Only if you were a sheep. Not that you'll care, but I now take what you wrote about your beliefs as fact, not juvenile twaddle.
Good luck to you, it's hard to find anyone with any degree of faith. I know I certainly have none.

I am, as I always will be, a faithful servant of the Goddess. In her embrace my faith is strong.

What do you mean by that?
Locko Park is a Live Roleplay site in Derby. A fair proportion of attendees of the events they hold there proclaim to be Pagan or Wicca, but are little more than kids trying to sound interesting. My ex was one of them.

By not knowing what Locko Park is, LordSplodge doesn't fall in to that category. But as I said, I doubt he would have cared either way.;)

Like I said I kind of just became a Pagan. I was one before I knew what one was!

I "found my path" as it was when I started University in 1997. At the Fresjers Fair there was a stand for DeMontfort University Pagan Society.

The rest as they say is history. I keep meaning to get in touch with The Derbyshire Pagan Society but life is so busy at the moment I keep putting it off. It is always nice to have fellow believers to talk to as both my wife and my cat think I am mad. :p

I'd like to chat with you about this if you don't mind [email protected]. I'm interested in religion and theology.

Paganism attracts no end of weirdos like you describe. Gives us that are serious a bad name.

I have enough faith that you could call me a new age hippy freak and I would not care.

How the hell did a thread on a crappy Channel 4 program turn into an in-depth discussion of my beliefs? :D

Must be in a talkative mood as I rarely talk about it.

Seeing as this isn't always possible I often pop outside when the moon is out late at night or early in the morning and have a nice private chat with Selene, you know tell her how things are going and ask for her help.

I sometimes talk to the moon as well, maybe I'm slightly pagan after all.
I've never actually thought about it that way, though I suppose it doesn't contradict my other beliefs really.

(that sounds a bit flippant but it isn't meant to)

Doesn't bother me, its not like they're hurting anyone.

You don't have to pigeon-hole yourself. You can just enjoy talking to the moon, it's OK just don't let the neighbours see you! :p

I only meant the significant number that proclaim to be Pagan when they clearly aren't.
In terms of my feeling towards LRP'ers, I have been to the Gathering most years since 1994. I am in no way anti-LRP!!!

Ah I see. Well I used to know a wiccan girl, she seemed nice enough...

Seeing as someone has brought the show up, which I actually find interesting and educational, they mentioned yesterday (and I have since then found online) that the bible contains a section that says that pigs are filthy animals, implying they should not be eaten. I thought that was very insightful - I wonder what strict christians thought of that, considering muslims do not eat it for exactly the same reason.

Well done you've figured out why jews don't eat pork :)

It's in the old testament, but in the new one god said man could anything that moved upon the earth ( except ppl irrc), s no it does not apply to Christians.

I watched it and was amused by how it wasn't really doing Muslims and Islam any favors.

No pork - unclean (Pigs are, in fact, very clean animals)

Same as why its in the old testament, they live in their own poo, so when meat improperly cleaned/slaughtered can spread desiease which is interpreted as god punishing you for eating it, and i don't believe it does not keep well in middle eastern climates.

Yes I am being serious.

Selene represents the most beautiful woman, yet is at the same time cold and distant. However, she always returns to see me and although I can chase her I will never catch her yet I love her still.

She is my companion when I am out and I can ascend high to sit and watch her beauty.

Fundamentally it is the cycle of the Horned God (the sun) chasing the Goddess (the moon)

Begoe was my patron deity when I was younger and more angry!

I'm sorry don't mean to offend but that first line reads like something off that emo corner, about some girl that smiled at one of them that day :(
