How out of touch EA are: "NFS ProStreet will dominate this Xmas"

How is mario going to be top when no one can get the console to play it? Mario would easily be the christmas number 1 if nintendo weren't actually noobs and had consoles on the shelves. Mass Effect is more of a gamers game. Not many people will buy it at the start but then word of mouth will hopefully increase it's sales. Shovelware has been christmas number 1 for as long as i can remember because it's available in mass on all platforms.
Ah a CS'er and his l33t 'noob' chants. Right, if Nintendo were such noobs how have they managed to bring out such a successful console, which apparently is going to be available no where this Xmas? What are you basing this on exactly? MS and Sony are both shocked by the rate at which the console is being taken in at so I'd hardly called them noobs.

LOL if this games big over xmas ill lol irl

it not really that great, all there is to say.

that be all.

has anyone addressed the fact that this new need for speed will be released on all three consoles and the pc giving it the biggest available current generation release market?

[edit] nokkon has but still, it gives it about four times as much market share as mass effect or mario alone allowing it to have many times the sales even if only the 'casual gamers' to buy it whom outnumber the serious and games savy buyers on all consoles

the people saying that NFS has been crap for ages, or has been crap since xxx or slightly wrong imho

Carbon / Most wanted / NFSU / NFSU2 all had pretty similar themes. Street racing on open roads, doing a bit of free roam round the city with varying racing types. But just like the NFS games before underground were a different theme, EA have changed the theme again with Pro Street

but for the worse

theres no way this will go to number one. We've found plenty of people on here who liked carbon. not one of them has said they intend to buy prostreet (myself included)

People that are not so computer savy will get it:(

People that all they know is if you put the disk in the game will play, those types of people will buy this game just because OMG Its Need for Speed!!! :(

Tis a sad world when **** can be sold:(

thankfully that sad world allows us to buy what we want and not what you want us to buy.

i found Wanted to be a rather good game and while i did not like the demo of the new one, i'm sure many 1,000's will.

Its nice to hear EA talk about there "dominant" and "agressive" marketting campaign.. and not talking abou the quality of the game which if it was good would sell itself.

It was because of what happened last year. It was exactly the same. I had to wait till middle of February to get my wii and that was a order i put down in cash in December. I would have thought Nintendo would have learned from last year but i guess not. If i didn't get my work done over Christmas by simply saying "i never knew it would be that busy" i would have the sack. Instead i prepare ahead or put in the extra hours to meet demand, which obviously Nintendo have failed to do for this Christmas or rather Europe which has always been their problem for as long as i can remember. (Remembers how long it took Nintendo to get SSB:64 and Animal Crossing to the EU)

Only 2500 sales separate top three games in UK charts

The fight for the Christmas number one in the UK has only one week to go, with Activision, Sega and Electronic Arts all battling for the prestigious position.

Only 2500 sales separate the top three games in the all formats charts – Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games remains at number one, with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare at two and FIFA 08 at three.

Bookies favourite Need for Speed: Pro Street is at number four this week, with The Simpsons Game at five.

Maybe COD4 might get to number 1 with its price cut at certain retailers.

I just can't see it happening at all this time round. I recall Most Wanted being No.1 but no way can PS get there, not after the shambles that was carbon. I think they're letting the brand name go right to their heads.

I thought it was quite good, but overall seemed to be a tad rushed.

The boss battles on the mountain tops and drift challenges were absolutely immense imo! I also thought the AI throughout the game was shocking and very very forgiving (probably too much) - apart from the Darius battle as you needed to race a fairly clean race.

It gets a big -ve from me due to some of acting/dialog in the cut scenes - so painfully cheesy (esp after you defeat Darius) :)
