Humbug H&S rules for Xmas...

Got a room full of Xmas decorations up and everyone has festive cheer.. some more than others..

Now, some suits from Health and Safety have gone around and told everyone in the building that tinsle is not allowed on or around monitors as they are a heat source and might start a fire to burn the building down.....

These tinsle have been on the screens for about 3-10 days depending on the department lol...

Talk about damping the festive spirit....

Any others got daft rules...

Colin - been told as i work in IT, im not allowed to voice any disproval to this rule lol..... tough, im a contractor.
 
Quite festive here and sensible at the same time so tinsel everywhere, real flamable tree with killer style 240V fairy lights.
 
The guys down south on our contract have been told to take all theirs down from the ceiling.

They can be responsible for an estate of 110,000 PCs and thousands of servers, but not have tinsel on their ceiling :/
 
a few of the guys here put them on the hand-rails on the stairs - I correctly predicted that they would not be there by the end of the day

I really want to be a health and safety manager. It really suits my personality...

Ruining people's fun - bonus as it is Christmas... ooh it does make me warm and fuzzy inside :D
 
I had a user come and ask me for a new keyboard after getting glitter and all sorts of crap in her keyboard. I think shes still cleaning it out tbh. Serves her right for being blonde!

Meh, they aren't common enough to get worried about. Your more likely to die in a car crash probably.
