Right my company runs a car loan scheme and I'm seriously considering ordering one in the New Year. Basically while I'm on the scheme I get a brand new car every 6 months and the cost of the car is taken directly out of my moneys after I've paid tax and NI and before it hits the bank.

Looking on the list I quite like the look of the VW Golf.

R32 with metallic paint, leather and a couple of other options (which technically aren't options as you are made to have them) comes to £166.00 per month for the manual and £178.00 per month for the DSG.

I pay the cost of insurance and fuel, but not the road tax or servicing, general maintenance and tyres etc as the vehicle is replaced before anything should be due.

Now would you the driving gods of this forum consider this a good deal? Also is DSG worth an extra 12 quid a month? Having not driven a new fangled DSG car (more of a mk1/2 man up to now) are they the best thing since sliced bread?

I'd take that option I think. Sounds pretty good to me.

It'd cost more than double that on finance so if you don't have the readies and thats the car you want then I'd say go for it.

Plus a deposit of at least 5k to get it near double.

The DSG box on the R32 is nothing short of amazing. As expected from a DSG it reacts to every position of the pedal and it shifts gear smoother and faster than a manual.
The great thing in the R32 DSG is that in S mode it optimizes each gear and stays above certain revs delivering maximum performance. Obviously, the V6 noise on it is epic as well!

This appears to be a staggeringly good deal. What other cars are on the scheme? I'd take an Audi S3 over a Golf, but if its just the Golf you cant moan at £160 a month. Sure you've read it right? Will you have to pay company car tax on that as well?

thats what i was thinking, very very cheap.
should also have to pay tax on it, which based on its emissions and original value, im guessing the tax wont be cheap!

No tax as my company are loaning me the car and I'm paying them a fee for doing so.

Anything from the VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda group.

S3 is on the list but is just above my limit of 30K (when you add in the options they make you have on the car)

£166.00 for the R32 is what its listed as. Edition 30 is £133.00 normal GTI about £100.00.

A ~£30k car for well under £200 a month? Great deal, are you sure you read the paperwork right? I'd bite their hand off! I guess you work for VAG?
