Sim City 4 or Civilization IV?

odd question, bit like asking should I have pizza or chinese tonight...:confused:

Both games can drain years from your life if you get into them. SimCity does have a very steep learning curve and is rather less "structured" than Civ. There's no real winning or losing in Civ, only experimentation.
 
both are amazing games, but both will take a long time.. if you gonna to get civ4. the new expansion pack is well worth it...
 
You can get the complete Civ 4 collection in the shops now with both expansions included and also Sim City 4 bundled with Rush hour mod in the bargain sections. I have both and enjoy playing either of them when i feel the need for some city building or turn based strategy in the Civ world.

After Civ Conquests sucked away too many hours of my life for my liking I've avoided buying Civ IV... for now.

Honestly though it's scary how many hours I've spent playing the Civ series and C&C series :eek:
 
I would say Civ 4, but I personally wasn't that keen on it. I found it got a boring after a while, but generally I seem to be alone on that opinion, so ignore me ;)
 
Both very different, both very good. You can get them dirt cheap these days - can't you ask Santa for both? ;)
 
Go for Civ IV Complete, includes both expansion packs.

Play on the lowest level for a while, it is more forgiving. See if you like it.

It can be very adictive! :)
 
CIV 4. I still clench my fists in satisfaction when I found a religion or beat another rival to a world wonder. :o

It can be infuriating though, and I do find wars very tricky both on the offensive, and defensive. As a result of this I would recommend doing as others have said and start on the lower levels. I'm still flapping around on Prince difficulty and it gives me grief every time.

It's not without its flaws, but CIV 4 is a mighty fine game.
 
Civ4, but both are superb, sims city 4 is the best SC game ever imo as it's finally a true simulation with good traffic management.

Civ4 is very good, better than 3, I still can't decide yet if it's better or worse than civ 1 and civ 2.

Civ4 will take more of your time and will last longer unless you really love planning and designing.

Personally if I'd have to pick: Civ4, but I wouldn't manage without both tbh, essential games for a pc gamer imo.
