Just visiting your average website will be fine on the PS3 browser, however if you want to do more/render more advanced sites you'd be better off sticking Linux on the PS3 and using Firefox if you don't have access to a PC for whatever reason.
Yup the browser on the PS3 is ok for browsing OCUK for exampe but anything with flash on it well all I can say is it constantly asks if you want to run the plugin. It gets extremely annoying after about 5 seconds. If I want to browse the internet in my lounge I will just plug my laptop into my HDTV.
PS3 is fine for what you would need it for. Standard websites work perfect and things like Youtube also work. It's great playing Youtube videos on your TV It will struggle with advanced sites though.
I am certain I have used this site on my ps3 and bookmarked it and logged in and posted from it. I will check later if I get a chance. I know there is cookies on the ps3 so that may be worth deleting, but I will test later and update here. (Unless one of the people at home with their PS3's on now can try it?).
Think of it as a PC with it's GFX card/Memory and Processor restricted.
Essentially you can do all the low resource intensive operations with linux installed, But don't try photoshopping. Although I've never tried personally, I can't see it working
It's like an Office computer! Internet, Documents, Music and Video.
I am posting this from my PS3 with a keybaodr and mouse, logged in as me (I gues the cookie is already stored as I didn't have to login or anything).

Edit: Just signed in and out of forums(from ps3 as well) and it let me login to forums OK. Make sure you have Javascript enabled (I tink it is in one of the settings on the Browser).
