Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

So the g25 has arrived with the Playseat gearstick holder.

Tonight will tell if a few guys on various forums have been over exagerating on how good this actually is. This game is my prime interest for the wheel rather than PC sims.
Quite an expensive gamble.
However no mistaking the build and finish quality of the product its leaps and bounds better than the X360 wheel.

I would love to get a Wheel by the time the full GT5 arrives, once your setup and had a good play, could you tell us how much space it takes up, how it attaches to desk etc. and if the build quality lives up to the reviews?

Looking forward to hearing how you get on with it.

Is taken me over an hour to dismantle my x360 wheel from the racing frame and attach the G25.

Add to that im non to pleased with the instructions regards the gearshift adapter for the playseat.Builind it was simple attaching it was no major problems but.....

The gearshift housing wont fit on the gearshift mount without modification.
Tried removing a plastic clamp to no avail. Found a solution in the end though.
= junior hacksaw to the plastic clamp = 3 mins later it was gone = problem solved.

The wheel and the actual gearstick have holes for screwing to a playseat frame.

Will give a brief comment back tonight, with a thread on the topic for the weekend.

Be very intrestead in your thoughts and findings, Im looking to get a wheel for my PS3 in the near future and was deciding between this and that nice Porsche wheel i saw a month or so ago. The Porsche wheel is about £20-40 more, and ive not seen many reviews about it yet, and not 100% sure about PS3 game compatabilty. So if you get on with the G25 then ill look at that one, just read somewhere that the wheel is quite small compared to a "real" wheel on the g25.

Anyone else noticed in the chase view mode the mirrors are goosed? The right mirror shows what the left mirror should be showing and vice-versa.

I just noticed it when driving the Viper around Datona, the right hand mirror was showing the yellow line, when it should have been the left hand mirror showing it.

these time trials are doing my nut in. professional and all off i get 1.2999 with the swift and 1.16 something with the evo. im not stopping till i get gold

i've been a busy chap the last few weeks. well, not really. i was layed up with a bad back and then i went to Prague with the GF for a week. Lovely place, but SO expensive lol

Its really not that bad, most things are just obvious, and there is still quite a bit of english in the game too, and for the rest of the stuff you can find translated screenshots on the net (some even in this thread)

I've got Japanese Prologue, but will get GT5 in English.

If you want look for the "GT5 help and play thread" on AV Forums.
With another guy weve added a lot of stuff on there in the first post.

I wouldnt want to wait till feb to get this for the sake of a few bits in Japanese, besides they dont really spoil much as yet.

G25 first feelings

Has taken me ages to get the G25 setup on the Playseat (removing the 360 wheel) have had a few goes, still getting the feel for it.

First impressions are good but a little mixed. The gear-stick feels crap and lifeless. I was aware this part of the product was its weaker point but im not so convinced that its going to be the most enjoyable way of playing the game. Still its early yet.

The paddle shifters without clutch and gears may be my own more preferred style. In general the wheel feels great as do the paddle shifters and the pedals are good too.

I find the exact same about the Gear stick. I think the wheel is excellent, and the weighted pedals are fantastic. But that gear stick set up just feels a little flimsy and light, i have the feeling if i go to change gear a bit to hard i might snap it in some way.

Well thanks to this thread, and many of the quality posts from Mr Latte, I'm now downloading Prologue from the Japanese store, to go with my G25 that's under the Christmas Tree just now :D.
