Received my new N82 today... frst impressions...

Hahaha, no, I'm just taking great delight in proving you all wrong because I don't appreciate people who try to discredit what I'm saying when I *KNOW* I'm right. So yes, I will celebrate that.

No, you're starting to troll, there is a difference. Ill just report to mods if you continue so please kindly show some grace and leave the thread alone...

Moving on...

Richdog how do you find the keys on the handset? My worry is that they would feel uncomfortable when sending longer SMS.

This handset appears to have everything that I want. I loved my N73 (apart from the speed sometimes), I currently have a 6120 Classic, however the screen is just a little too small.

Liking the candybar form factor more, I would have preference over this than say the N95 or similar type of phone.

Keys are fine for me... very comfortable :)

I'm the one providing the correct information so the trolls are those replying with incorrect information. I've only posted what is fact, not what I think is fact.

The networks will probably pick this phone up pretty fast since it's been announced and released in a very short space of time. I think Vodafone might not pick it up as quickly because they won't want to damage N95-8GB sales too much since they currently have an exclusive and are making a fairly big thing of it.

O2 are the nuts at the moment... i've just disovered their SIM-only package...

£20 a month on a rolling 30-day contract for 400 mins, 1000 texts, and unlimited calls to other o2 users. http://shop.o2.co.uk/tariffs/simonly. Next step up is £25 for the same but with 600 mins, and because it's a rolling contract you can upgrade or downgrade your tariff at any time. I seriously think this is the best deal i've ever seen, almost too good to be true even, i'll never sign up for 12/18 months as long as it's active!

I'm going to stick with that and buy my handsets off of Ebay in future, no more being tied into any ***** long-term contract for me!

I've just noticed this as well. The Online 20 - 400 Minutes and 1,000 txts is really good. I take it you can cancle one month if your not using the phone a lot, then pick it up again next month on the same sim/number?

Also got mine this morning from CPW on a O2 Contract so SIM Free in effect. Currently using it with my T-Mobile SIM with Web N Walk Pro and it works a treat, well impressed.

Q - Why are O2 Data prices so expensive? notice as part of the contract you can get 100KB or 500KB yes I did mean KB a month included and other Charges are £3 a MB seems a rip off and the bundled costs are not cheap. Don't they do a Web N Walk like package for £7.50 a month for 3GB for example.

Yes mate I think so... they do need a month in advance to cancel though.

Anyway wow... just installed Opera mini and I can't believe how good it is! It's made browsing VERY do-able on this phone, so much so compared to the default browser that it's a completely different experience! It scales everything into proportion and is much more responsive.... threads are so much easier to browse! May well sign up for the £5/m unlimited data transfer on 3. :)

If you do, call up and add "X-Series Silver" rather than the Add Internet Max from the browser, as the X-Series products give you access to nearly all websites and ports (whereas the Internet Max is restricted) for the same price.

Hmm I was looking at the £7.50/m package... how muc his the S-Series Silver?

Can only find this:

O2 Web Bolt On
£7.50 a month

Get unlimited web browsing on your mobile. Fair usage 200Mb applies.

Crummy usage limit though!

Ah right sorry, I had seen that you had mentioned the £5 addon for the web on 3, hence giving you a little info on that. Apologies.

I getcha! Just ordered the 3 Xseries Silver package for my phone for the remaining 2 months of my contract, cheers for pointing it out to me. :)

Had a play with one in CPW today; bit bigger in the hand that I thought it was going to be (bigger in all directions compared to the K800). Spoke to the guy and he said the CPW had an exclusive deal on it till end of Jan :S

Seemed like a nice and responsive phone.

Hmm i seem to be experiencing the odd reboot here and there. It primarily seems to happen when inserting something into the 3.5mm jack such as a pair of phones or the TV out, but it happens also when browsing 'tinterweb the odd time. Im looking forward to seeing upcoming firmware updates address this.

Keep reporting back wont you Richdog, because I am contemplating getting this phone, but have had so many software issues with my last few Nokias, and wouldnt want to be getting another phone with a problem.

Not including the awful awful placement of the multimedia key I hope?!
Whoever came up with the idea of placing it under the right soft key (and much too close to the D-pad's right hand side) deserves some sort of poo-filled pudding tomorrow (assuming they're still in stock at Lidl).
