Somebody will fall for this........

Why are you people reporting him?

The title isnt misleading at all and neither is the description and its listed in 'Digital Art'

"Stupid" maybe, but 'its their own fault, lets laugh at them' is pretty unfair.

Imagine the scene, little Jimmy wants a laptop for xmas, and in the last minute rush Mrs. Jennings, inspired by the ebay add on tv, purchases this item. Very pleased she is too.

I don't think anyone deserves that deceit or dissapointment.

It's not misleading, you people are fools, and have presumably been caught out by this kind of thing before :)

So say your mum, who doesnt know much about computers as most people in that generation do not, hears about eBay from a friend or on the news, perhaps as a place to bag a bargain, spots this and thinks it would be a nice present for you for christmas. The website looks reputable and is famous, what could possible go wrong. Next thing she knows, she opens open a letter with a picture of a computer and a receipt for £600.

You would be quite happy for this scenario to unfold would you?

its absolute no different to telephone scams of old, praying on the vulnerable or ill informed. If you cant see why its wrong, you disgust me.

Unless he painted it by hand, it ain't worth £600 buy it now, is it? Surprisingly that price is also on the good side of legitimate m1330s for sale on ebay

Whether it is worth £600 is another matter. I could organise whatever I wanted for a price I think is fair. If no one buys the item then I only have myself to blame.

It's listed under digital art

Again, just proves that if people are stupid enough not to read the description properly they deserved to be relieved of £600. It couldn't be clearer, you are bidding for a photo of a Dell laptop.

It's not morally correct however....

I'd tell my mum not to be so stupid in the future :D

So just because somebody isnt as educated is you in the ways of computers and the internet as you they are stupid? You must have very very few equals.

No one said his actions were correct, just the listing is misleading.

In the scenario above it wouldn't be nice, but if people don't take the time to read the listing and research things then they WILL get stung.

Unfortunately there are so many stupid, single minded people who will jump at the chance to save some money that people like the seller of that auction will have a field day. Hardly suprising really.

The guy who setup the auction is clearly a scum bag, yes he's not breaking the rules or the law but the same could be said about people selling shoddy stuff to old people. Someone should just take him to one side and break his legs the world is too smaller place to be occupied by this type.

Well I guess I disgust you then! I'd hope that my mother would fully read something before spending £600 on it, and not buy something without being sure, firstly what it was, and secondly that it was indeed what it said it was.

People love blaming others for their own failings :) "Ohhhh I got scammed boohoo". Idiots :)

Stop trying to twist my words. Not once did I say it was acceptable what he is doing, just the listing is NOT misleading. If you carefull read the listing and the title you will notice he is selling a picture of a laptop.

If people are so hell bent on saving money that they do not take the time to carefully read the listing then they deserve everything they get.

Sure is.

All he is doing is trying to sell at picture of a laptop at a silly high price. Nowt wrong with that in my opinoin.
I can't believe you would even imply that people who bought this would be expecting a photo of a laptop. The seller is trying to decieve people, end of.

Listed in category: Art > Digital Art
seems fine to me :)

Quite!

Questionable morals of the seller, but, this is a capitalist country is it not?

Good luck to him, Caveat emptor, Fools & their money.

What price Art? ;)

I've got a photograph of a new 8800GTX Graphics card somewhere................... :D
