Start out... looking at her with stupifying disbelief (visually displaying your wtf feeling)... then calmly, quietly and slowly say "Excuse me, there is no need to raise your voice to me, I can hear you perfectly fine" - normal person would be in disbelief that you completely ignored what they said in your reply & that will hit home too. If she continues... laugh at her, shrug and simply tell her in the same manner that she is embarrassing herself in a very condescending tone. Anyways - try that next time something similar happens - see how they respond

I'm an old git so prone to look at things somewhat differently to some of the keyboard warriors here.

If things were as you describe, ie a peck on the cheek, then she's and old busy-body who should know better; if it was Olympic tongue wrestling, I'm on her side.

As a side note, how many of you think that life shouldn't be filtered and how many believe (as I do) that there is plenty of time to grow up and learn about certain things without having the seamier side of life thust upon our kids?

We tend to complain about kids being on the street and intimidating people etc; where do you think these lovely young examples come from? a home where they have been brought up in a balanced way or somewhere they are shown how crap some people can be and how to survive at the age of five?

It maybe isn't quite so black and white but I'm sure that most people would agree not to spoil an innocent youngsters Christmas by telling them that there is no ....etc, you get the idea.

Keep 'em as innocent as possible for as long as possible is what I say; there will always be some smart arse, street wise person to put 'em right along the line.

oh i agree with what you are saying, but like i said it was just a peck - not some wildly passionate tongue olymics!

although even a passionate kiss is ok in my mind. and if it was annoying loads of people then fair enough one should move to a private place, but if it is just 1 person annoyed, no matter how passionate it was - they should be the ones to move.

Don't maintain an artificial state of ignorance is what I say. It doesn't help adolescents.

Shielding adolescents from how crap some people can be, yes. Shielding adolescents from an inoffensive show of love, no. More love, less crap.
