2 new FarCry 2 videos.

WOW, another 'Graphics are totally more super important than gameplay' game to feed the simple minded console market. The graphics looked awsome, but none of the gameplay really made me want to pay it any more than Crysis... Its just another Jungle Island with something strange going on generic cash cow pretty looking game for the blanket Console/PC combined release.

Im really starting to get a bit disillusioned by FPS games, there all the same just trying to get one up on Hardware destroying graphics.

And I refuse to fully believe anything that comes from a video narrated by a guy who thinks 1km out of 50km = 1%?

I got the impression from that video that this game is supposed to be exactly that. He kept describing it as a visceral action game, and keeping that in mind I thought that the videos demonstrated it well.

I wasn't expecting an intellectual game at all when I opened the link, if I want that I'll go back to playing Civilization 4 or something instead of a first-person shooter. :)

In fairness he said we'll be seeing 1% of the game, not that 1km = 1% of 50km.

We only saw a tiny part of that 1km space so he probably wasn't far off. ;)

You must be well clued up to tell all that from a low res video of a pre alpha game :p

You seem to forget they will be out to better Crysis (wont be hard IMO), and obv cant use the Crytek Engine.

Im just getting a bit bored of same old game, new looks.

I can remember when I played HL2 Episode 1 for the first time. Some points in that just made me smile deep inside. (POSSIBLE SPOILER) Like when the Ant Lions keep spawning from the holes and I just thought to myself "blimming things, I wish I could just block the hole with something... oh hang on, wait, I CAN!"

Games designers seem to forget that games should be fun, and concentrate on making them look pretty. This game will just fuel the Console gamers ability to smack down his last generation graphics card PC gamer friends for not being able to play the latest uber cool awsome amazing super graphics! Fogetting the fact that the Console gamer has an IQ of 12 (not aimed to anoy console gamers)

He states in the vid its a familiar environment, Jungle on an Island, with amazing graphics and dense foliage. Come on Ubisoft, isnt that the exact same splurge that came out about FarCry? Weve all seen, done played, replayed, and forgotten about the Jungle/Island/Something fishy going on theme. Bring us something new!

I'm not sure what else they can do though I mean... We've had urban in Call Of Duty and many other FPS games, we've had jungle in Far Cry and Crysis, we've had arctic conditions in Lost Planet, we've had desert in a few too.

We've even had the vacuum of space, alien planets and mythical locations like Hell.

I'm not really sure what else they can do except improve on what's been done.

There aint nothing new, its all been done, same with movies and any aliens in them

1 director (cant remember who) refuses to have them in his Sci-Fi movies as he says all forms have been done, little green men or lizards etc etc.

How about fights in large empty rooms with white walls, ceiling and floors? :)

Yeah, but its pumped out like we actually want this same old same old stuff. Someone somwhere is telling these game designers that we want more and more of the same. I vote we all find him and bludgeon him to death with copies of the games he keeps telling people to make...

Looks good but I doubt it'll be as well coded as Crysis to run on old hardware.
Crysis is extremely well coded.

finally someone has sense, crysis is immensely well done when you think what your getting, HDR, 4xAA, 8AF and its the best looking game i have seen to date without a shadow of a doubt

FarCry 2 is seemingly another "It looks good therefore must be crap, i'm going to judge everything overly harsh because it looks good and no one really understands just how good half-life 2 was like I do" game.
