The 'it's Christmas Eve and I'm at work' thread

Spot the new member of the management team ;)

Ahem, senior management team if you don't mind ;) :p Lots of people work on the 24th, heck even banks are open and they're the laziest ****ers when it comes to taking time off! :p

It's going to be a fairly long day (was in at 5am as usual), but hopefully finish early (7ish). :)

Nice. Hurrah for non-standard RAID sets (DP in this case).

Still, at least it's only 400GB.

I've since found out that one of the disks failed earlier in the week, so I've had a mighty go at the person  who didn't do anything about it...

Hey ho..

2 disks out of a 4 disk raid 5 set. Thankfully the o/s was on a a seperate mirror

yep I know this - just finished work myself - but senior management are usually conspicuous by their absence over the Christmas hols... I give you 2 years, then you'll be booking 20 December til the 10th Jan off as a perk while telling all your staff that it's 'just another day' :p

Just finishing off for the day.

On call day shift (07:00 - 21:00) tomorrow and Boxing Day though only on emergency, so shouldn't be any trouble unless there's a riot at one of our "hotels" or something that our duty office can't deal with. Back to normal on Thursday.

I worked Christmas Eve for the last 3 years and enjoyed it. Our department was great for getting in food and drinks for special occasions, and it was always just a really relaxed day. I don't do anything important on Christmas Eve until mass anyway.
