happy xmas to me

For unlimited mileage that price seems quite reasonable. Is it truly unlimited or there some clause about "reasonable usage"? I guess you're over 30?

Oh and Sytner Drive charged Norwich Union £6,000 for my 7 days of hire on a Mazda 3 sport so £4500 for 2 weeks in an Aston Martin seems quite reasonable compared to that ;).

This really does show everything thats wrong with the insurance industry. Why is this sort of thing accepted? £6k for a week in a car worth £12k? And you and me end up paying for that :(

I know. The thing is I trusted the Sytner name and didn't ask too many questions - it turns out the cars are actually provided by Helphire (their name on the paperwork). The lady on the phone told me in all seriousness that it was a "very competitive rate within the industry". Helphire must be worth a fortune!

I think the car does list at £17k ;).

whose placing bets on whether it breaks down?

about 3 hours :p

already knackered the airflow system, amazing service response from AM though, had an engineer here within an hour!

and got a cabrio coz they had no coupes left

if anyone is around for the 26/27th with a video camera id be happy to take you out for a spin :)

How do you justify laying out £9500 just so you can drive an Aston to the Alps? I don't think I could ever do that, no matter how much I was earning.
(I'm not saying this in a dismissive way, I'm genuinely interested in your motives! Especially as you've got the Scoob which you could do it in and arguably have more fun in the process?)

Because he want's to show off in the alps ;):D

£9500 to wave your willy about. no ta.

Wait till people ask you how much it was and you have to tell them it's a hire :D

Not if you're on holiday you don't ;)

You'll not likely see most of them again... a few little white lies never hurt anyone.

Still it's £9500 to wave your willy and pretend you own something you actually don't, no thanks. Absoloutely barmy IMO. More money than....

£4500 (£5000 deposit)

add to that if I took 'my' ferrari i would have to take the hit on tyres, mileage etc..

so actually its cheap as chips :)

only real downside is the utter lack of luggage space

Well, to be honest, that just shows that your own mentality is more about using it to show off and make other people think you're better than you are.

Personally, i'd be doing it for the enjoyment of driving round the alps, in an open top V12 luxury Aston Martin for a week.
