I cooked my mince pies and a truffle torte for Christmas day yesterday. Here are a few pics.

This is the chocolate mixture added to the cream, doesn't look so nice at this stage :p

That's the base which the mixture will go into, it will actually be the top of the torte as it's turned out upside down. It's just crushed amaretti biscuits.

Mixed in, looks nice now.

Mixture poured into the tin. After this it's in the fridge to set until I need it, so tomorrow it will come out and taste lovely.

Today I prepped most of the veg so loads of potatoes, parsnips and brussels and I'll be doing the carrots and brocolli tomorrow as I steam those. The turkey will take around 6 hours to cook , with the stuffing it should be around 19 lbs, hehe, plenty for left overs and sandwiches too :D

Relaxing with a drink now after cleaning all day for tomorrow, cooking and washing up loads as today the dishwasher thought it would be a good day to die :( Someone is coming out on the 27th to have a look but the next couple of days will be hard, 11 for dinner tomorrow and 9 on boxing day. It just leaked all over the floor and then tripped the whole power circuit when it was turned back on.

At least it's Christmas tomorrow, all presents wrapped, kids asleep and most of the food is ready to go :D

Looks great! My wife just made some mince pies for Santa. My daughter just helped her get things ready.

Mince pie and can of Red Bull for Santa (:D), and a carrott for the reindeer.

so your having the red bull and the mince pie, and your giving your missus then carrot? :p

Is that Delia's truffle torte? We used to make the same for Christmas, until my brother decided he wanted to go Snowboarding every Christmas instead and wasn't bothered about having one anymore :D Just put the finishing touches to my Christmas Cake and I'm rather proud of it!

I've made my mince pies with puff pastry this year. They look kinda like Eccles Cakes and have gone down extremely well. Got the recipe off BBC Good Food :)

It is, I do like a delia recipe :D Yours sound lovely :)

your kids are asleep at 7.30? woah i bet you are gonna be up early :p
the food looks great too!

They were asleep a little while before then! Considering they are 11 months, 4 years and 5 years old I think that's good, they need their sleep at that age. They always get up between 6 and 7am, no doubt earlier tomorrow though :p Most nights they're in bed by 7pm, especially school nights as otherwise they are grumpy and knackered all day.

Jodie, you've just put a bit of excitement in me, ready for Christmas with that little write up, thanks :D

Nice looking food too :D

Mark, Happy Christmas all.
