Canary Wharf looked bloody cool in the fog.

Impressive, I had a wander around London too during yesterday but lack of visibility was a bit of a downer as I had a few stuff I had planned to photo.

Here's what visibility was like when I was out

Downer , was one of the best days of the year to shoot. So pleased I made the 70 mile round trip to the wharf.

I 'spose it's good when you're after the fog but down here we get fog a lot so it's a bit of a let down for me when I travel up to London to get specific photographs only to see fog!

That's fair enough, we've had little fog since last December down south so I was well happy.

The great thing about London is, when the weather is crap outside their is still 1000 things to shoot inside.

Nice shots. On Sunday morning I left work at about 6:30am, noticed the full-ish moon peeking through the thick mist, and thought the misty moon + lights around my local town centre might make a good contrast (usually the moon would be far too bright). I only live round the corner so went back, grabbed my camera and monopod, and wandered around for a while taking shots... none of them particularly good in the end.

But that's not the point. I was gradually aware of being watched in the otherwise empty centre. A woman was hovering in the entrance to Asda (which was closed, it being Sunday). I shouted out that if she was waiting for Asda to open she'd have a long wait.

She nervously asked who I was. To cut a long story short she was scared to come past me because she was scared I was a mugger... stood in the open with a big DSLR on a stick, obviously taking photographs.

Maybe it was fair enough for her to be a bit anxious... any woman on her own is bound to be in the scaremongered era we live in. But all the same, I felt a bit put out. It's not as if I was hiding in the bushes!

Oh well, never mind. It was definitely one of those days to hang around for a bit just in case that 'chance in a lifetime' shot appears. In the end I just got cold hands and some average shots.

Ive only looked at 1 pic, dont have too much time at the moment but it did look pretty stunning, step dad even copmmented on how good it looked.

London is fantastic from the very top floor of Canary Wharf :)

Remember the bad wnds we had around a year ago? People were stranded, train lines closed, etc. I was at the top on that day and it makes you sick after a while! It's like being on a ship.

Some really nice shots there, I took a look at some of your other galleries, in abstract the 1 2nd row down 3rd in from the left is amazing the 1 with the way out sign

some lovely pics. I work in the main tower at one canada square and it can be quite freaky on an uber foggy day when you literally can see nothing out of the window but clouds of vapour!
