Bought Guitar Hero III at last... one thing though...

I find it easier with the gamepad!

I completed it on easy last night, but now need to do it at medium.. but its just too damn hard. Medium and Hard on the gamepad aren't too bad - but on that Guitar I just have no co-ordination with my little finger!

Oh, and I paid £70 for it only to find that my supermarket had it BACK in stock for £59 - and with my discount it would have been £53 :(

Hows everyone else do with the guitar? (and does anyone else find the fret buttons stop working now and then?)

The game is designed for the guitar! You should learn to use it because it makes things much more fun and you will get bored quickly if you stick to the pad. Come on! Pretend you're a rock star :D
 
:D I'm trying... I get weird looks from my parents every time I do the Star Power tilt thing, like I'm some deluded rockstar wannabe. I managed to improve a lot in the last day or so, there should b diff songs for each difficulty level :p
 
I tought the same but once used to the guitar is A LOT easier, on easy you can complete career easily with the pad but once you want to beat songs 5 star and move onto medium the pad is really hard due to the trigger buttons, they're too slow pressing down so unless you have mentally quick fingers you're best getting used to the guitar.
 
yeh man its designed for the guitar, anythin else is just a cheap match the button game, no sense of awesomeness.

lol i remember when i used to think medium was hard. just pick a song you find hard and the practice the hell out of it, once you can play most of or all of it, move on to an easier song and start workin your way up
 
No co ordination with your little finger? Pfft I don't use my little finger! I would like too but it's double jointed and spasms out.
 
Ive had it since launch, and killed the demo with the pad so was very much used to that. Pad is 100x easier, i was at the stage with the demo that i could 95% the songs each time.

But its all about the guitar, and the other night i got to stage 7 on hard after beating Knights of Cydonia et al and was well chuffed. Now im working on the final stage, its brilliant. Infact, gonna load it up now and get some rocking done i think.

edit: i havnt even played easy, i will do that eventually :p

so yeh, keep at it with the guitar!
 
It's great to play with friends too, if you didn't know you get extra songs for playing it through on co-op. Something i didn't know!

Dragonforce is by far the best song on there though, its so challanging even on medium!
 
GF got me for xmas :) just completed it on easy mode. All songs done but the slayer one I can only get to 73% before fail :( :(

Really want to learn it on medium now but finding it hard and my hands are really sore. Think its the way i hold the thing :(

Far easier with the pad but what's the point?

Guitar hero should always be played with the guitar.

only 31.. I'm 37 .. its scary, if I could see myself strumming around the living room thinking I'm slash! I'd lock myself away in a dark room and listen to whale music for weeks.
 
I got this today it's amazing how using the guitar instead of a gamepad actually makes you do a few little rock moves like coming to the end of a song and exaggerating the last note :)

Woohoo! I rawkkkkkkkkkkk! haha. Working my way up from easy though, was so used to the controller on the demo. What round does TTFAF appear?
