Just bought some of these for £61 on xmas special with a fiver off with google checkout, and I must say they are quite good.

I put them in a p35 ds4 and found errors on the F9 bios, this happened with any memory I put into the machine, so I went back to F8 for testing.

First I tried them at stock 800, 5.5.5.15 with 1.8V, 400 x 9 on the 2.00 multi and they passed 3 runs of memtest.

I then tried tighter timings 4.4.4.12 with 1.9v just incase, and again passed memtest.

I then decided to give them abit of overclock, so I tried changing the memory multi to 2.5, meaning the memory was running at 1000 @ 5.5.5.15 with 2.0V, and guess what?.....It passed memtest.

For the price I'm really chuffed, and I like the little led's on them, even though I can't see them when the case side is on.

Anyone else got these?

I don't have any I'm afraid but I am interested in knowing what IC's are being used. Could you take a pic of one of the sticks so we can read any markings on the chips and post it or just type it out, whichever is easier :)

Thanks ;)

I *think* they just have a Geil logo stamp on them. Tho Servo will be able to confirm.

I didn't know they have LEDs tho.

Thanks but I think I have tracked them down...

Thats them, I do like these better than my crucial, very very stable.

They have 2 small red led's on, I guess they are the dragons eye's.

i have the 2gb set and i'm very happy with them and lol "the dragons eye's" very fast and stable still in the early stages of tweaking and overclocking but looking forward to it. :D

Interesting - HolyEagle is complaining in another thread he can't get over 860MHz out of his 2Gb kit.

I take it no-one has actually run 8hrs of Prime on these 1000MHz 4Gb kits?

I'm very definitely not a Prime fascist, but it does seem to be a simple way of demonstrating genuine stability over a reasonable period of time whereas passing memtest just means it read the same values that were written to it.

I did run prime for 8 hours and it passed, but lets be honest, prime doesn't test the ram that good.

I did run memtest @ 1000 using the memory multi and it passed 5 hours stable, the only thing I noticed was each test tool longer with 4 gig in.

The test was 400 x 9, divider was on 2.5 and ram volts were 2.0. I do admit, I've not tried any faster.

I don't have the time to do another 8 hour test, but I will try and do a prime test for a few hours for you.

I'm not a Prime fascist, if you've done it and confirmed it's stable, then I'm satisfied. 1000MHz out of PC6400 RAM is a brilliant overclock anyway, but to do it on 2 x 2Gb sticks! I think I'll get some, as the Corsair XMS2 4Gb kit I have doesn't overclock at all.

I'll do a 3-4 hour test for you anyway, I should have kept a screenie last time, and I didn't. (Old age). This time I will save it.

The ram does seem very good value for £60, I wish I'd bought more at the time, but it was a gamble because I couldn't find any reviews on the stuff.

The only problem I have, I used the credit card and didn't tell the wife, god I'm goosed when she finds out!!

I'm goosed when she finds out!!

Goosed! My Dad used to say that all the time. This was goosed, that was goosed. And the tone! It was the same tone you use with someone when you tell them they'll never play the violin again.:D

Lol, he's "old school"

This might bore people, but I remember when I first started using that word, it was in 1974 when I joined my first ship in Singapore. The crew were from India, and the officers from Newcastle upon tyne area. The Captain came to us, after a wild drinking binge, and asked us not to swear infront of the crew.
So we started using "Goosed", after 48 hours all the crew were using it, so the Captain gave up.

Our claim to fame is, we exported the word "goosed" to india. :P
