Bad result for us all things considering, we had a very strong second half but nothing in the final third until the last few minutes when Bendtner came on. Portsmouth just seemed happy to defend most of the game. Had 2 gilt edged chances but fluffed em both.
Adebayor was the worst player on the pitch by a mile, didn't win a header, messed up virtually every pass and didn't once manage to beat a man. Usually he manages to gloss over his misgivings with a goal but when he doesn't score it becomes apparent how little he does. We really need to buy a striker in Jan as RvP is far too much of a sick-note. If anything just so Ade can play in a partnership up front as he limits us so badly when he's the only man up top.

Bendtner looks ok to me and Eduardo is a good player. Arsenal doesn't need another striker. Wenger needs to give Eduardo and Bendtner more games.

I don't think they do, they are doing fine without someone special up front. I have a feeling Eduardo is going to be a very good buy once he gets a few games under his belt. The man is a much better finisher than Adebayor but hasn't taken his chances when he's been in the team in the league. In time I think he will come good.
Adebayor was absolutely woeful today.. horrendous.
Playing upfront on his own, which is a tough job, but it does NOT effect your ability to make simple passes, control the ball and stay onside. SHOCKING. No goal to cover up his poor performance either, as was the case against Spurs.
And Wenger.. the man is a genius but sometimes I do wonder. 4-5-1 is killing us. Bendtner comes on, we switch to 4-4-2 and create 3 big chances in as many minutes...... will Wenger learn anything from it? Nah.

time for a 30 second gloat methinks. oh we are top of the league oh we are top of the league. worst start by ourselves in just about premiership history and we're still top at the half way point, joint top on goals scored, fewest goals conceded and far and away the best goal difference. qualified for cl knock outs without breaking a sweat
bring on the second half of the season Personally i feel its a good result for us.
Portsmouth are an inform side and always hard to get a result away against.
The ther top teams went away with just a point, the season is a marathon not a sprint.
There will be more shock/poor results for all the top teams between now and may this result doesnt show that we are lacking upfront.
Pompey defended brilliantly, adebayour was frustrated and yes it was one of his poorest displays but what about the other games where hes played upfront on his own and tormented the defence brilliantly allowing our midfield to join the attack etc.
We dont need another striker we have plenty imo we need another CB in january along with a left midfielder

I thought that of the 3 reds at Stamford Bridge the only one thoroughly deserved was the second for a dreadful, dangerous, awful challenge. The other two were really soft IMO, but at least it was one pen each so kind of evened itself up.
