Im sick of using the web to be able to tune my guitars. So can anyone reccomend me a quality and very accurate guitar tuner, please.

Im talking about a 6 string EADGBE tuner by the way. Just incase someone gets confused, cos I also play bass. :)

Check this out, very accurate and excellent quality.. StroboStomp 2

Peterson make some super-accurate but highly expensive tuners, this stomp version is a nice compromise.

a standard eadgbe tuner would also tune bass :)

The Boss Tu-2 is where it's at. Really good, accurate tuner and is well worth the money. Tuning via the web is good however as you get to train your ear.

Korg DT-10 > Boss TU-2 :D. Cheaper, better looking IMO (I have the black one) and supposedly more accurate. The Boss states +/- 3 cents accuracy, while the Korg states +/-1 cent. Seems small, but the margin is fairly significant and a 2 cent difference is noticeable to the ear.

Nonetheless, these are 'stated', so should be taken with a pinch of salt and if one doesn't rely wholly on the tuner readout for tuning, then you should be fine with any tuner.

Strobostomp is something silly like +/-0.1 cent accuracy I think. Seriously overpriced, ugly, and not a worthwhile investment for the return.

Bear in mind that none of these have a microphone for tuning acoustic instruments.

Didnt realise they where so expensive, lol. I was thinking £30 - £40

Looks like I better save up a bit more. Thanks all. :)

All the above should do the job to be honest, I personally use a Boss TU-8, which has never let me down.

I suppose the Strobostomp I suggested fit the OP's brief, as a price range wasn't specified. I have used one of these briefly, and they are damn good. Also, good gear isn't cheap, and these things are built to last.

Brings me to the point that your rig is only as good as its weakest link. Everyone needs a tuner, why scrimp on it. (Although I admit that dumping >£100 on a tuner would be hard to swallow)... :D

Boss TU-2, can easily get them second hand, very accurate and built like a tank, you can also use it in your stomp box chain should you ever want a live-type of setup.

I honestly don't think that 2 cent is noticeable to the human ear. Never tried the Korg but if its cheaper then it might suit the OP's needs.

I can vouch for the Boss TU-2, ive got one and it's solid, never let me down. Accurate too. It has 2 outputs so you can have no sound output while tuning up (as no one wants to hear that ina live setting do they)
