As title, replacement card for a 6800GT for my dad, but he only wants to spend about 60 to 70 quid. Any suggestions?

x2600XT's and 8600GT's can be found on AGP for around 70 notes. They have similar performance and will play most games on medium settings @ 1280x1024 quite well.

For a little more money you could go for an x1950Pro or an 8800GTS. These are approx 20% faster than the above.

A cheaper option would be a 7600GT. These can be found for 50quid.

Dont get the 2600XT series or any 2xxx ATi series card for AGP, there are numerous reports from users about drivers sucking, or not working at all, go with nVIDIA or X1950 PRO from ATi

agree on the driver issues, best to steer clear of all ati agp cards now, for more information check the rage3d forums. but the apparent word from ati is that official driver support for agp cards has ended since catalyst 7.7
