what she was trying to achieve was selfless and very necissery but this outcome totaly inevitable

she would have helped the cause better if she was still alive and surely it was madness for her to go back to pakistan ?

True - despite him being on the US side, he actually seems quite unable or unwilling to crack down on the Pakistan border and tribal areas, so possibly he is the best option for the extremists right now. It was probably more in their interest for him to win the election rather than Bhutto who might have closed down the ISI power and the tribal areas.
 
I hate to be ignorant. But how will this effect us Brits? Its not likely to cause a war is it?

I'm shocked that this happened after reading half an hour ago that she had escaped with injurys... I hope this is the case.

she didnt go home to help...her and her family have never done anything for the sake of pakistan..they have done it all for self gain

there was something in it for her to go back..either money or power

From the BBC - "The PPP has the largest support of any party in the country." Musharraf must have been worried about the upcoming elections if this is true.
