put my entry in, after messing around taking various pictures, annoyingly enough i've got tons of pictures good for this comp, but they're all way before dec 1st :o

That is one of the best photos i've ever seen! So unusual and different. Well done:)
 
LOL its so obvious to me what it is, but I can see why several people have asked me now,,,, its the gas hob off the top of an oven with the top part removed, and my finger on the ignition button for 30 secs, filled the middle bit with water as it seemed to make the spark go all over the place, doing it without water just made the spark hit exactly the same place each time making it not look as good...
 
lol, when people can't think of anything interesting to shoot, out come the macro shots!
 
I guess its just an attempt to make something totally boring into an interesting and different picture with a hint of abstractness.
As opposed to endless "new camera" pictures, where someone has artistically arranged a bunch of keys or watch, on a table and messed with dof and HDR merges.
 
just put my entry up - i thought it would have been done already! - lack of inspiration but if i find another idea i will replace it!

lol! it has been done, I just haven't entered my versions! :D

I spent about 3 hours messing around with different lamps and bulbs and lenses, filters and 8000th sec shutter speeds, and gave up in the end, then I thought of the spark idea..

Still got my eyes open though never know what you'll see/think of
 
to be fair i thought of the spark first but the bulb was in the same room as me so i went with that first!
Great minds eh!

I hate vodafone.

I've been away for a week over Christmas and my only net access has been via vodafone.

Not only do they charge you a fortune for access, but they provide a specially broken service.

I was forbidden from looking at 33L's lovely macro of a lamp fillament because it is posted on Imageshack and Imageshack is blacklisted by them.

Then I looked at my own picture and noticed it was pixelated - concentric rings in the sky where the gentle graduation of colour should be. I've just done a complete re-processing of the image only to find that it was their fault - they had silently re-sampled my image and filled it full of high-compression artefacts.
