What is essential in life?

Someone once told me Maslow wrote Robinson Crusoe and made links to theory. I believed him and then he made me look very stupid in front of the whole class. I then wished his hierachy of human needs included soup, a straw and the stenna stair lift!!!

Even from a non emotianal logical point of view you can ask your friends and family for help in times of need. My mum wouldn't let me sleep on the street.

Yet people who do live on the streets most certainly have or at least had friends and family.
Humans can be unpredictable, but money you can rely on :)

So humans weren't surviving before the invention of money? You can live without money and it's pretty easy to if you know how. Society on a large scale won't work of course(as we know it).

Money encapsulates a lot of the basic needs, as listed above, like food, water and shelter.
