I put a pair of 452s on the front of my 330i sport a couple of months ago. Now they're bedded in I did think it would be worth putting some comments up here.

It's a pair of 225/40/18s, costing all of £65 each (including fitting), which assuming they're not going to kill you is at least cheap. The best price I found for Eagle F1s was around double that.
And the news is that...I'm still alive and reasonably impressed. Dry and wet grip seems more than fine, and better than the previous pair of Dunlops.
The only downside I've found is an increased tendency to tramline on poor surfaces, but from checking the PH forums, that's not uncommon for my car.

So looks like a good result.

I will agree with all those coments.

I put a full set on my pug 307 and after 500 miles they are not to bad.

But they do show some signs of wear already. Doubt they will last as long as the last set (4218 miles Barum)

I had some FK452's on my old e38 728i (255/45/18 Rears) and they seemed ok, but wear was an issue. They lasted about 8k miles compared to my previous set of Bridgestone Potenzas which lasted approx 13k miles.

The Bridgestones were by far & away the better tyre in the twisties imo. :)

i had these on my ST220. Nice tyres, altho i definately agree on the tramlining issue.

Also wear isn't brilliant. Mine needed replacing after 4 months :(

Never had the tramlining issue iirc, but it seems I did better with the wear from my 452's than I'd thought at the time!

Those miles on my tyres are 90% B Road miles and are front only. Rears last me about 14,000 Miles
Car is a 2.0L Pug 307 XSI.

Thinking of getting a set of these for the Celica as my current Firestone (aka Ditchfinder F1) are really scary.

I'veh ad the 512 tyres before and they were rubbish, i've heard good stuff about the 452 though.

interesting, I am getting the 330d sport sorted with these all round after I found out goodyear no longer make f1s in the rear size.

Back when my Mondeo needed two new fronts, I opted for the FK452s and they gave me far better grip (particularly in the wet) than the ContiSport 2s they replaced (although they were worn when I bought the car) - I didnt keep the car long enough to find out how they wore.

Did you get the XL versions?

I've got 452s on my celica, all good so far :)

I've got a couple of 452s on the front of my mk2 mondeo. I have to agree with the tramlining comments of those above.

They do however perform very well against standing water & aquaplaning, which came in very useful during the pouring rain on Friday morning.

Iirc, yes mate. (not got the car anymore :( )

Not a fan i have to say, i found the provided VERY little grip in the wet, dry was ok but not great.

That said, a friend bought them all the time and swore by them

Just goes to show you shouldn't buy a set of tyres on one persons reccomendations :)

(was there not another thread about these recently). I had these for the ATR, I thought they were pretty hopeless. Couldn't keep the power down and had pretty poor wet grip compared to other performance tyres. Swapped them for potenza RE010s and it was a different world of grip, massive improvement. Guess it shows different tyres can suit different cars.

Got them fitted today, initial impressions very good in the rain, no more understeer when going around a roundabout fast in the rain.
