Surely I can't be the only owner in this forum?

Be good to hear from those of you who have this board and what issues / results you've had so far.

I'm running the latest BIOS 0904 and can't seem to get my Q6600 above 420 x 9 with OCZ DDR312800:mad:

Yeah sure is. Dual loop.

But like every overclocker, I want more;)

Just expected to get more out of DDR3 tbh. I've read a lot of reviews saying ppl are getting between 450 and 500fsb with that memory, but I can't get close.

Here's a pic of the beast.

Nice clocks,

I've just bought one of these boards and a q6600, gonna see how high i can take it on air, Once i've got it built i'll post back here and hopefully you can give me some bios settings as i've not got a huge ammount of knowlege on overclocking cpu's but i'd like to think i could get to around 3.5-3.6 ok.

Keep us posted as to how you get on. I'll be glad to help where I can mate.

Asus Maximus Extreme loves Q6600

This board rocks with my Q6600 450x9 especially with the latest bios 904

also this is the first time i have had 500 FSB out of my quad ,

Happy days

Sweet stuff mate.

Can you let me know what voltages you set to acheive that stable?

1.58v in bios but it is actually 1.56v real
cpu pll 1.6v
North brigde 1.57v

"There are two important things in BIOS - do not set PLL voltage to AUTO, the BIOS will give 1.85 volts which is pretty much........, and the NB voltage - set it only to AUTO up to 450 FSB, BIOS will give 1.44 volt. But above 450 FSB the board needs 1.61 and BIOS will set only 1.55 which is pretty less...

Anyone managed to get 1T memory timings to work on this board?

I've selected it in the BIOS but CPUZ and Memset both state the RAM is running 2T.

Jokester

Edit: CPUZ and Memset are both wrong, it is 1T apparently

Yeah I've noticed that. Also notice that even though my memory is set to 7-7-7-20, Memset reports it as 7-6-6-6-23

Still having a major nightmare overclocking the FSB on this puppy. Runs sweet at 400 x 8, but the FSB just hates being upped!!!

Bizzare board!

Finally Citylink have delivered my new kit!, **** those guys are useless, 1 week late.

Got my new comp built up tonight spec is as follows-

Maximus extreme mobo
2xgig Corsair DDR3 10666
8800GTX running stable@650/1020
Q6600 G0 @ 3.37, lapped
Tuniq tower cooling
Antec 900 case

After having owned an Asus striker extreme i was preparing myself for disapointment but after getting it all set up and trying different settings im well happy with it, its just so easy to overclock. So far its a defo 10/10.

Got the cpu up to 3.37 with ease, sitting at 1.376v, been running prime95 for 20mins temps are-

69c
69c
65c
66c

Seems to be sitting nice and stable at that, i'd like to raise the fsb a little higher but do you guys reckon thats possible with the temps i have at the mo?

Upped the fsb to 389x9 to achieve 3.5ghz @ 1.384v, Ran prime for 20 mins temps were-

75c
75c
71c
70c

This is getting to hot i reckon, can anyone tell me if its possible to cool things down a little by adjusting multipliers etc ? all my fans are maxed.

Hi, nice setup.

1. Whats your idle temp on that?
2. Prime loads all 4 cores, so its gonna get hot. But when gaming, it will only use 1 core, so won't get quite as toasty. Mine's now running 420 x 9 (on water) and fluctuates between mid 40's / 50's when I'm gaming, depending on ambient temperate.

That does seem quite warm though considering its not clocked too high and that you've lapped it. Thought about water cooling?

Hi

What cooler / paste are you using?

Im using a tuniq tower, and arctic sliver paste.

Managed to get the cpu to 3.5ghz on 1.28v(cpuz) with really good temps running prime but it failed after 20 mins, voltage too low.

Finally decided to leave it at 3419mhz @1.288v(cpuz) 380x9, ran prime for a few hours like this and it topped out at about 65c idle temps are-

39c
43c
34c
39c

Come january im gonna invest in some decient watercooling, this mobo can go so much faster :)

those are low volts. When mine was running at 3.6, the CPU was set to 1.5v. Now its just shy of 3.8, I've upped the volts to 1.55 and all is sweet.
