**The Official Boxing Day Sales Thread**

Am gonna go into town tomorrow and take a look at the sales.

Hopefully not too busy.

Whats the sale like at Debenhams, anyone know?

the likes of Next stuff and as above mentioned Toshiba and names people have never heard off.

Wait, people have never heard of Toshiba? One of the largest electronics producers in the world with over 12.5 billion dollars in revenue for 2007...

Ok then.

If you stick "Sale" - "Bargain" - "New year sale" - "Midnight Sale"- or " Today only" on something the lesser brained people will assume its something to look at and it's the first thing most people approach.

The humans who have evolved slightly will immediately understand its just advertising rubbish to get people to buy the stuff.

And if people would just spend 15minutes searching online, they would find the same product for 20% less in most other places - it's cheap for a reason (usually because it's going end-of-line or no one else wants it)

I'll give you an example. A local high street retailer was going to sell me a TV I wanted for £500. (It was already reduced from £700 to £600, but he said he would give it to me there and then for £500 in his midnight sale) - I went home a checked that night - and It had just been reduced online to £427 from another retailer - with another £12 off - So I got it 2 days later delivered for £415)

Same TV - And loads of cash better off.

Me and the missus ventured out to the "sales" today, was pretty mental everywhere.

Managed to get 3 tops in Burtons reduced from £15 to £7 and a pair of jeans for £20, a nice non-stick Tefal wok in Woolys for £7.50, was £15.
We also got 20% off of a new living room carpet with fitting in Carpetright and a new rug for £32.99.
Oh and we picked up a 3 tier vegetable steamer for £19.99 was £39.99 i think at Comet. !!

Was knackered when i got home though.
:D

Has anyone seen the pictures on the news this morning, of people fighting with eachother to be the first one in the shops today.
How mental is that?!?!?!

Got myself a decent Toshiba DVD Player yesterday, hooked up to Samsung LCD via HDMI  It was insanely busy in the 'generic high street electrical store', but then I don't know how busy it actually is on Boxing Day as I don't normally go until few days after.

Went to next sale this morning at 5am

Some really good stuff on offer.

I had new black leather shoes for work reduced from £50 to £20
Trousers from £40 to £20
Smart wooly jumper for work from £30 to £15
Scarf £5 :p
Combats £30 to £15
Jeans £50 to £25
Smart casual shirt £30 to £12

Next imo is one of the only stores where everything in thestore is genuinelly half price or less

I went in top man and burtons yesterday and they had about 3 racks max of half price stock, majority of the store was still normal prices!

Are you mental!

Yes and no :p

To be honest its one of the only bits of clothes shopping i do during the year, i get all my works stuff mainly and smart casual clothes from there in the sales and that lasts me the whole year.

Worth getting up at that time once a year in imo :)
