I just picked up a hdmi - dvi connector when i bought my screen was about £15 for it i'm sure i could have got it cheaper else where, but then i would have had to wait and patience is not one of my strongs points when i have a new gadget to play with

I toyed with the DVI - HDMI adapter as well but I knew I would need a slightly longer cable to reach the left hand monitor so I made do for the meantime.

I'm glad I did as I managed to find two decent length cables for the same price as one adapter.

Hopefully they'll arrive before too long.

The one with DVI & VGA is just the HP w2207, likewise the HDMI one is HP w2207h and also has HDMI sticker on front of panel.

The DVI ones do exist as I've seen it with me own peepers! Same price at the moment but I do believe the price is likely to go back up to about £249-289 depending on place of purchase.

hmmm i think i shall get one of these i think i can get it for 180 with discount from the space shop but i need to wait for delivery or i could go to the purple shirted ppl and get one for £200 depends on if i can wait for del tbh

To clarify, the two models are the W2207 (with VGA and DVI only) and the W2207H (with VGA and HDMI only).

The W2207H is the only one available in most places and has replaced the older model - HDMI and DVI are pretty much equivalent anyway and you can very cheaply buy an adapter so it doesn't matter at all between the two.

I'm under the impression that the glossy screen gives it a "wow" factor, but it is still a 6-bit TN panel, the viewing angles (especially from below) won't be impressive.

That said, I want one! (still can't decide whether to spend more on a 24 inch though, there doesn't seem to be any "perfect monitor" out there!)

hmmm i get the jist (sp?) that tn panels arent so great, im totally at a loss as what to do

i need a new monitor and everytime i get close to choosing one i read something off putting

You can always get something better, faster, sleeker, sexier.

Bottom line is would you be happy parting with £200 of your hard earned for one of these.

I bought 2 and I'm more than happy with the result.

Go to one of your local stores and see one in the flesh, you won't be dissapointed.

Hope you're happy with whatever you end up with.

I believe there is, i think its just HP w2007, i think i saw that one where the purple shirted pimple jockeys reside!

I quite like the design of these tbh, very nice indeed!

They've even included a tray with it to put your cups of tea etc on.

This monitor good as people say, i've searched for reviews and none to be found at the expected websites, other than a couple of customer ones which were hit n miss...

The monitor feels sturdy and certainly looks the part, the glossy screen makes most things look brighter, more colourful.

It also tilts and lifts which is normally missing from tft's at this price point.

I was considering this myself but I think I've decided to go for the Dell Ultrasharp 20.1 2007FP as its a stronger build, better tft panel (better viewing angles) and much better warrenty (4years next day onsite as opposed to 1year return to base).

However the HP has a better response time for games and the like, its also £65 cheaper, for me it was a tough decision, but i guess you gotta get something eventually!

I really don't see that as a concern myself - I really don't think I've very often heard of a monitor randomly stopping working 13 months after you buy it.

More of a concern is the viewing angle - from below it's supposed to be very bad, which is a shame, since I quite often end up sitting on the floor looking up at a screen which potentially makes this fairly useless.

I have the original w2207. Sitting at my desk, it's a pretty fine monitor - nice contrast, very little backlight bleed and only slight blurring in games. If you're gonna be watching it from the floor, though, I'd forget it. The vertical viewing angles are pretty poor - when it's rotated to portrait mode you have to sit dead straight in front of it or the colour is variable.

It's probably the best TN screen but it's still a TN.

Made a trip to the shops this afternoon to check one out, very nice design and feels very sturdy, certainly seemed to have better image quality than all the Samsung offerings situated around it, all displaying same vid/images on loop. No Dell though, shame as im interested in some around the £200 to £250 mark.

What swung me apart from the extra warrenty on the Dell, is the build & screen quality. I've had a Dell 17" Ultrasharp until recently which was a fantastic monitor even though it relatively poor viewing angles (didnt notice too much) & the Dell 20.1 Ultrasharp I'm going for has a better internal panel so it should be great, cant wait.

Yep think im going Dell now tbh, purely because ive since found out with a bit of diggin; HP W2207H panel is made by LG - so you would expect at least 2 year warrenty considering, but nope.

Edit: Infact after more searching found out that the screen varies a hell of a lot dependant on manufacture date, see below for diff screens within HP W2207H (btw avoid one with Innolux panel at all costs if buying, terrible back light bleed) >
