Wow, can't believe it's been 8 years since new years eve in the last millenium... waiting for the whole IT world to collapse. Time flies when you're having fun :)

Crazy. I was on my way to Liverpool to look forward to a night of hedonism, beer, women, beer, music, beer, dancing, beer, fighting over memorabilia, beer, sleeping in Lime St Station, beer and beer 8 years ago, 6 hours from now.

It wasn't really that long ago, was it?!!?

I remember it clear as day. The build up, the preparation, stealing Advocaat off a girl I fancied, walking about en masse around the housing estate where we were, trying desperately to prevent my friend from getting a good hiding from about 10 seperate people at the same time as removing him from some railings, and passing out on a friends living room floor.

It all goes waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast.

Yeah, i remember sitting at my grans watching the fireworks going off in australia etc on the millenium. I was only 13 at the time though so going on *** last wasnt really an option :p

I was one of those guys on standby waiting for everything to go pear shaped and the computers explode, had to start work at 6am New years day after far too many beers, such an anti-climax but an excuse for silly OT rates. :p

IT guy here too but didn't want to work that night :D Lots of money being thrown about at the time to stop people resigning though. Good times those. Again very different now.

I was on call and couldn't drink :(

I was working in finance but there was a lot of concern about the systems we used.
