I hate New Years eve

It's an excuse for a knees up that has a better turn-out than any other knees up event. I take it as nothing more, and nothing less so I enjoy that.

Take That on the telly, vodka and some pizza, what more could a girl want!
(Well maybe Take That pouring me the vodka, and feeding me pizza, but hey I cant have it all :p )

Get out! You and you're rubbish Knip ;)

Shocking!

I'll be getting double-time for working it again this year.

Don't like Hogmany much myself. Scot's are supposed to be big on Hogmany but I don't see what all the fuss is about. Nothing much changes from the last day of 2007 and the first day of 2008, what's the big deal?

I'll take the 250 quid thanks.

It doesn't.

We did a pub crawl around town last year. Only paid to get into the last place as it had a dance floor and opened late. A whopping £6.

I should go to Bristol for new years then :p

Prices for beer generally up, and some places charge upwards of £60 to get in around here.

I'll probably spend it with a few mates somewhere and have a few beers with them, rather than going to a pub/club.

Vastly over-rated night... too much pressure on having to have a "blinding" night, and just an excuse for a lot of people to get 10x more drunk than they usually do, no wonder it's one of the worst nights for accidents and other incidents.

This year call me a boring sod but i'm staying in with my old man... I see no reason to celebrate the New Year with a load of strangers who end up hugging you despite the fact that in normal circumstances they'd probably be the first to spit on you. That, and spending £100 for the privilege.

Much rather spend the night with the people I love that are most important to me, because those are the people i'll be looking forward to the future with, not some sweaty bunch of gimps in a pub/club.

And no, i'm not generally even a remotely miserable person.:p

i ended up in bed one year at ~10pm. this was when i was about 17. call me sad but its just another day of the year to me when people spend too much money

this year me and my gf are having my parents round for a chinese. woo hoo, big spenders!

It's great if you have something planned for it... I think house parties are the best thing to have going on. Best NYE I had was a couple of years ago when I was living in Canada and we had a house party, people just poured in off the streets, but there was no trouble and was good fun.

I still don't have any plans for this year as yet, so it makes it feel depressing... when its true that it just is any night really.

I'm not fussed about New Years Eve really, I'll go out when I eventually get home from work, IF I get home... Wont be getting wasted, but I'll have a few drinks and I'll try to enjoy wherever I end up.
The best part about New Year is the fact that the office is closed on the 1st and 2nd, w00t, lazy days planned! :D

My new year will consist of a few pints of Guinness. Not going to go to excess like any other saturday night because this is new year, so I want to know what I am doing.
Nothing worse than seeing the new year in with your head down a toilet, nice start to the year

I agree,

I went on the xmas works do and its was awful tbh.

I was wondering at the end of the night what on earth I was doing there.

Its the same at New Year.

I don't hate NYE, it just does nothing for me after Xams.

Having a quiet night in tonight with a few other refugees who have nothing else planned. Food, wine, TV, Wii and poker.

Might make it to midnight but might not, it doesn't really matter to me.

I don't like it. I was tempted to organize something with friends...but it just seems like such a come down from Christmas.
