How much more expensive is a taxi likely to be to get somewhere about half 8 tonight?

It would normally cost about £8 for me to get where I want, i'm gonna get bummed if I can't find another way to get there aren't I?

£8 in taxi terms is only about 300 yards. Walk.

Seriously you'd probably be looking at about £12 I reckon.

Double it i think. Depends on where you are. Everywhere uses different rates depending on the council. I know when i went down guildford they added 50p for every shopping bag i carried. Which is BS tbh.

Not here it isn't. It's about a mile and half, which if walked, would be through unlit woods commonly used by homosexual doggers. I'm not walking.

my usual fare is £8.50. one new year the driver had the cheak to charge 4 of us £25.

Hackney Carriage prices are normally fixed by the local Council, saying that they are allowed to charge more on Bank Holidays, Christmas and New Year but this is at a fixed rate again decided by the council.

Private Hire on the other hand can charge what they like.

Only bus to town stops at 6 as far as I am aware and everyone else is getting drunk so can't drive me.

This is a slight predicament :/

Might just have to turn up an hour or so early.

its gonna cost double minimum i would have thought, its one reason im off to the pub rather than to a house party that would cost me £30ish alone in taxis

Here there is only Rate 1 and 2 on council licensed taxis.

So you pay more, but nothing extortionate. I would say 8 quid fare becomes maybe £12 here

Round here its fare + half but i think some places might try the old double fare depending on the distance.
