Which 24" Monitor? (OCUK, Dell or Samsung)

Samsung SM-245B 24"

or the

OcUK Value L2442W 24"

or the

Dell TrueColour E248WFP 24"

The OCUK sounds the best for the money, but my limit on a 24" monitor is £300-350 and I was wondering if I could get better quality for the money?

From my experience, the picture quality is better on a Dell than the Samsung, depends on your budget though. The OCUK one is meant to be a bargain but I havn't used one, i know others like them well enough.

Yeah but it has a price tag to match. I always seem to hear split opinions, there's no definitive 'verdict' or review of the monitors.

It's pretty annoying for someone who's about to purchase.
 
Ive got the Samsung 245B its a lovely screen which cant be faulted, however only one negative thing ive seen on it is the viewing angles... obviously if your not moving your head about left and right or up n down u wont notice too much of a shift in quality but it is there.... people are right u will notice it cos its a much larger 24" size screen.... not really something that can be described not till you really have it in front of u and u can see it yourself.

My next screen will proberly be one of these, proberly cos its cheaper then the Samsung and its similar to those £400-450 screens in terms of picture quality/viewing angles, you only need to read the thread and see the pictures to tell its a better option :)

yeah im not sure whether to get the samsung one or that OverclockerUK one... :S i dont mind paying slightly more for the samsung really hmm,
 
Well from what you've said, would it not be better to get the OCUK one? Seeing as you aren't buying another Samsung?

Thats the one everyones grabbing atm.

its 50 quid cheaper and better then my Samsung, it wasnt like that 2-3 months ago but now the options there, so yeah if I had to buy a screen now the Ocuk 24" is the one id go for.

Read the thread and think u will do what most are doing.... as in grabbing an Ocuk 24" ;)

Still the Samsungs a lovely choice and I like my screen has a lovely preset button where I can change different profiles ie gaming mode or net mode.... u dont get that sort of technology/features with the Ocuk 24".....

But at the end of the day read the entire thread ;)
 
The Dell E248WFP is a TN panel screen, so it has crappy viewing angles and possible poorer image quality. On the other hand the 2407WFP-HC is S-PVA - much higher quality. :) If you can afford it, go for the latter.
 
Is the Samsung SM-245B 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor a S-PVA panel or a TN one ?
Also I was going to buy the Dell 24'' 2507 until I read articles complaining about ghosting issues. And at over £420 worth of momitor I do not expext any issues. Also I notice that some suppliers were selling the older 2405WFP above RRP !
Can you blame them, as it seems to be the monitor to have, and the best Dell have made to date, even though it is an out going produst.
So which leads me to the Samsung SM-245B 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor.
Is this a good second choice in place of the Dell 2405WFP ?

Most have run away from the 2407 hc due to the ghosting issues...

The amount of post/replies gives u a clear hint of what u should perhaps be going for....
 
I went with the 2407-HC for the number of different inputs connections, build quality and vibrant colours, and although I can make it ghost (only happens on a dark grey background) you have to look for it to notice it.
 
Ive got the Samsung 245B


have u tried it with a 360?

im wondering if it works? as iv read that people have had problems...

i know that the 360 can't do the true rez of the monitor but it can do 1 close to it or even lower so wonder if still looks alright and works?
