hello, and happy new year to you all...

i have 2 pairs of 2gb crucial ballistix, i can get either pair to work but not both pairs in my gigabyte x38-dq6, i have boosted the MCH to 0.1v and they still wont work (bios reset continual*) and i can't see anywhere in the bio what volts the ram is running at.

any ideas before i go out and buy some OCZ reaper lol

Put 2 sticks in, load fail safe, then enter settings for 4 sticks, then put the remaining 2 sticks in. That's what I had to do to get my 4x2gb working.

i have tried all that, i guess its just not compatible with the mobo, when i put 2 sticks in (either dual channel kit) they work fine, and bench for 12 hours without any problems, they just wont work together

Will it work with 3 sticks ?

I have 4 x 1G of ballicks ram myself and I cannot get my gigabyte P35C_DS3R
to work with all 4 , same as you the pairs check out fine but stick em all in
together and it screws up royally.

I could get it working with 3 but it slows the read/write access times down too
much.

I tried adjusting lots of timings / voltages but no luck :-(

I had a problem with my Gigabyte DS3R board and 4 x 1gig sticks. I turned the memory speed down to 800mhz(from 1066) and it worked fine. Might just need more volts.

I have 4GB of Crucial Ballistix (4 x 1GB) running on this board....a Q6600 @3.6GHz, 450 x 8..

Which BIOS are you using...F6b is decent?

Make sure the vdimm is set to +0.02v in the MB Intelligent Tweaker (to enter this press ctrl + F1), also make sure set to 2T, Performance Enhance set to "Standard"...:)

Hi, yes my bios is F6b, i have had a look in the M.I.T but can't see the vdimm, is it another name like what the northbridge is (i.e. MCH)

When you flashed the BIOS did you, after reboot and entering the BIOS, select "Load Optimized Defaults" first, before changing any settings? :)
