OcUK 24" vs Samsung 22"

mate if i wiggle my mouse fast i get that on my Mitsu Diamond plus 92 CRT. This is not ghosting per se as its couples with the draw rate on the graphics card.

thats ghosting. however you cut it.

I have been playing COD 4 for days - there is no ghosting - whats more to the pooint - no one has complained about ghosting in 69 pages.

i was a major contributor to that thread, and you didnt see me complaining about it either. but its still there, regardless:) if it does that to a mouse pointer, it'll do that to everything in a game that moves. the key is how much it bothers you.

James Miller put up a High Res photo of his OCUK 24" in a dark room, the Black Screen showed no backlight bleed or therefore uneveness, infact I was very impressed it was Totally Pitch Black not Midnight Grey :)

yup, this one:

absolutely none. better than my 40" sony, which i was both amazed and annoyed by :p

James Do you own a CRT? Because i own one of the best CRTs you could get when they were popular - the effect you captured is exactly the same on that.

someone posted a pic of connections on the back of the ocuk on that thread and it looked like the back didnt fit properly, big gaps in the case, is that right?

Well, I've ordered the OcUK 24" with BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB. I should, with a bit of luck, have both tomorrow and I'll let you know how it turned out.

forget the tearing there. look as the after image on the wall, and the blurring of the textures on the wall and the ceiling behind it. look at the gun anf how it remains sharp because it doesn't move as far as the ingame camera is concerned.

i have no problem with the ghosting on my dgm but to say it doesnt? wrong:)

You know what James you're correct and I was wrong about every monitor.

I promise you this though - I cannot reproduce that effect on my V0 panel.

cheers,

im am just telling the truth about a monitor i have said many times is a fantastic panel. i've actually gone some length to prove this panel does have some ghosting, no matter how little it is. but now you're on the defensive one and for what? a monitor?

there's no need, really?

mines a v0 and i bet you can. if you can produce that mouse effect with a crt, then you can do it with your dgm and you can do the same in game.

lets not start losing a sense of civility - not necessary especially on a subject like sodding monitors. I have the effect captured - its really all i can do ... or frankly care enough to do.

Who are you talking too m8 ?.

I was not trying to be uncivil (looks like the mouse trails or shadow setting) so drop the attitude just cause your not happy someone else is debating with you (not myself) in this thead.

I can see that ghosting but you may have had to go to extremes to produce it, not saying you did or didnt but like you i think i could live with it.

Been googling the samsung and it really does look sweet, the actual chassis that is, but if the ocuk is a better buy i will do it.

Anyone else got an opinion between the 2? i need to order within the hour to receive this tomorrow :/

Hold on mate - i was being completely genuine - backed up by a massive thread ont he subject. But i have accpeted that I am not able to

Sorry James but getting phased about monitor specs would be ridiculous you're the one who sounds like they're on a mission.

lets just let it go - i have admitted i cannot see the problem but that it exists. I maintain that i cannot see the issue though.

backed up by a massive thread. sigh, no you arent. not at all. lcd's ghost. it is a limitation of their design. that will be the case for some time to come yet. and these are what, 8ms g2g panels? for a display that takes 8ms to change a pixels colour, there is going to be ghosting, it really is as simple as that.

if you cant see it, well thats great. like ive told you already, i dont see it as a problem even though it clearly is there. however, it is extremely hypocritical to say you get the same mouse blurring on your crt one minute, then deny you get any at all on your tft. which is the truth? because your tft isnt going to be any better than your crt is it?

yeah why not? if somebody wants to tell me im wrong, ill prove otherwise. which i just did, politely. it was your choice how you handled that, not mine:)

im sure you can live with it. the panels are exceptionally good. as i said, id choose the bigger, sharper, higher res screen every time:) the ghosting is very minimal:)

firstly let me clarify the 'civilised' post above i was referring to helmut cheese so there was confusion there as you read as if the post was aimed at you.

James whatever - as if the world and his wiife doesnt know the limitations of LCD's - thanks for that revelation (even though I had already accepted the issue). the discussion was about noticeable ghosting mate - and we both know you had to go to lengths to deliver that screen capture - i know this because i have just done it. I have accepted that there is a ghost issue with the caveat that its very difficult to notice.

there are users on the site reviews and in that thread that have stated exactly the same - they're 6ms btw.

well. shake mouse, press button on camera. it wasnt that difficult. i dont really know what your problem is but like you said yourself 'what ever'. you cant have it both ways mate. either there is ghosting or there isnt, and every time i gave you the facts in this thread your story changed just that little bit didn't it?

* There is absolutely NO ghosting on my OcUK 24 Inch. And believe me I have looked.

*shrugs*

yes i realised they were 6ms. doesnt really make a difference though, does it? maybe my eye's are just more sensitive to it than yours? i dont know. and thank you, i know this was about *noticeable* ghosting.
me said:
that's ghosting right there. however, it is very minimal in gaming on the screen. but with some fast paced action you do get some texture blurring and and fuzzy lines. In all honesty though, they are still very good.
