I just received my contact lenses I ordered in the post today.
I ordered green coloured monthly contact lenses, with power 0.00 as I do not wear glasses.
I plan to only wear these about twice a week though.
I was just wondering, can I leave the contact lenses in the same soltuion for a few days while not wearing them?
Or do I still have to replace the soltuion with new fresh soltuion every day even though I am not going to be wearing them on that day?
Thanks

I am presuming they are soft lenses?
If you take them out and put them in the case and leave them, you will be Ok for 2-3 days as long as the case remains sealed shut. Any longer and I would change the solution just to be on the safe side or if you touch the lenses in any way.

Excuse me if this is a stupid question, but why exactly do you require monthly lenses? Isn't 0.00 just normal sight?

Yes they are soft lenses. Thanks for the responses. I think I might ask an opticial aswell jus for confirmation.

I got them as they are coloured lenses. I got monthly lenses as they are MUCH cheaper than coloured daily disposables which are very hard to find.
The optician told me that monthly lenses can be used for longer than a month. It just means you can wear them a maximum 30 times, but if you only wear them a couple times a week, they will last for much longer than a month if you look after them properly.

Yeah, sometimes I go days without wearing my contacts so I just leave it how it is - I dont change the solution in it.

As an optom I advise my patients to change the solution once a week if they are not going to wear the lenses for a while. However the procedure is as follows:
Remove lenses, rub and rinse, store overnight in case
next morning change solution (you don't want lenses sitting in dirty solution for a week).
finally top up with fresh solution and then leave for a week.
change solution again in a week if stil not worn.

daily colors are expensive - even i don't bother fitting them on patients.
