FAO People with Hiper Type-R 580W - Or have RMA'd one

Hi there,

Finally got my RMA number through.

They are asking for all cables, boxes, mains and manuals to be sent. Does anyone know what came with the psu because i don't. Will they care if i don't send ALL the cables?

Do i need to send it tracked, because it will cost loads, or will standard parcels suffice?

Also - i don't think i have the original box, and even if i do, I dont have a box that it will fit in.

i didn't send mine tracked, it was broken so worthless. just send the box back with the psu, i just left a letter in saying i have had it for 12 months do you seriously expect me to have all the spare leads and manuals still? :S

make sure you put your address in with it as well as they kept mine for over a month claiming they didnt know who it was from even though the rma number was posted on the side in size 20 bold arial font hahaha :D
 
lol...cheers....why do they have to make this so complicated....i wish i could just send in the psu...

they best not complain that it wasn't packed well either...

Would have thought hiper would be a pro at rmaing by now. Just look at balistics, they are pros ever since their DDR2 range which is very prone to dieing.
 
LOL....just got back from the post office (over £8 to send!), and what do i see lying on my desk...

...two cables that come from the hiper psu....just my luck....

It's odd that you had to send back the cables, when I RMA'd my Type-R I just had to send back the PSU itself. Personally I recommend that you sell the replacement and use the money to fund a shiny new Corsair :D

I gave mine away for FREE :D

they sent me a brand-new one, all nice and sealed, so i gave it away haha
 
if this goes pop and takes out the ram, motherboard and/or the CPU do Hyper cough up for replacements as this is a problematic power supply that fails regularly?

reason i ask is that i have one

I bought the Hyper Type-R about two years ago, when it came it was as noisy as hell, so sold it on eBay within a week for same price I had paid for it :)

Now two years later I am finding that my Antec TruePower 2.0 seems to have a cold boot issue, and I am pretty sure it is the PSU, but can't find anyone with a spare PSU so I can test my system.... looks like I will get a new one, then RMA this one and sell the replacement / repaired PSU.

Looking to get Corsair 520HX me thinks :)
