Mainly due to the fact that I didn't own a PlayStation for very long, the first GT game I played was GT3 on the PS2 and I was blown away by it.

I have recently got back into the PSP again in quite a big way (largely with thanks to a certain battery) and I am currently playing Gran Turismo 2 - I have to say that I am really impressed as I had no idea that the original PS1 could produce such great physics and gameplay. Other than some improved graphics I don't see how an actual PSP version of GT would be a great deal better.

Just a little something I thought I would share ;)

You'd be very surprised, GT4 is coming out on PSP soon in portable form (not until after GT5 production is done though). Basically PS2 graphics over the PS1 graphics you are currently seeing.

I do know what you mean as I think some games like Burnout etc look great on PSP, but I guess I just didn't realise that games could be so good on PS1.

I love Gran Turismo 2, it think it has more cars than GT3.

PSP Gran Turismo doesn't look like it'll ever come out to be honest though.

It is coming, the last interview that Polyphony Digital head gave (I forget his name) confirmed it again not that long ago. He said it's very much in development but the entire team has moved to the PS3 game.

the original release date for GT4(psp) was the same day as the PSP was released, I've moved flat 3 times since I bought my psp :/

but yeah, the originals were dead cool

Cool. So the latest 40gb PS3 can't play the games themselves but they can stream them to another console wirelessly that can, strange!

It can play PS1 games, can't play PS2 games.

PS1 games do not look good on a tv these days, they do look nice on the PSP screen though.

Was GT2 on two Discs? Or am i getting confused, thought one was the GT mode and one the arcade game? Oh well ill have to dig this game out again at some point, was probably my favourite GT game.

yup thats right gt2 had 2 discs. played to death when it 1st came out then played it to death again on my psp :D

here's a pic of the gt2 game discs, taken from my collection :)
