PC Racin Sim...hmm..

give test drive unlimited a go, its not amazingly realistic but something fun about randomly racing strangers around the streets dodging traffic

I played that to death on the 360, but might try the PC one, too!

Just downloaded trials of GTR2 and 18 Wheels, Haulin', going to give thema try, then RFactor & LFS tomorrow :)

Richard Burns, i might give a go, although i'm not a massive rally fan.

I suggest you only play Richard Burns Rally after you get some experience in other games as it can put you right off driving sims :p

So far, trucking: FUN!

GTR2: Rock Solid!

I'm no driving game novice by any stretch, but wow, GTR2 is one tough cookie!

Gonna grab the LFS demo now methinks!

Sorry to butt in here. But while we are talking racing sims...........

Do any of you guys have f1 Challenge ? It is a couple of years old now but is supposed to be a "Classic".
Or rFactor ?

I'm thinking of buying one of them.

Thanks for any help.....and I don't like LFS..Love GTR2 and GT legends:D

To me, *** F1 games were good for one thing, there addons. The original GTR was amazing, and GTR2 is a very easy game in comparison IMO.

i need help with rfactor , everytime i join a server it kicks me and says car is not reconized on the server.

Usually some kind of mismatch. Old version of a mod maybe, have you changed some config file or something?

A lot of votes for LFS here. Comming from GPL I though't id love it when I tried it a year or so ago, bit didn't really. Might try it again

Pretty much played them all and would say the best is..

rFactor -on road
Richard Burns Rally -off road

Worthy mention -Colin Mcrae: DiRT (not as 'sim' as the other two but thoroughly enjoyed it)

where do you put the mods when downloaded plz ?

Off the top of my head tracks go into

rfactor/locations or is that rfactor/gamedata/locations, sorry not on games rig at the moment.

I cant remember where the cars go. I thought CTDP 05 had an installer though.

cheers, i managed to get the tracks up and running but some cars i've downloaded don't seem to want to work,,,, all in all its a good racing game with a very fast and smooth gfx engine

I have it and really like it. theres a lot of mods for it, so you dont nescesarily have to have F1 cars. it was designed by ISI and published by EA,so its technically its in the same vein as rfactor (ISI's own game).

only prob is, despite the fact theres still a big community for it, a lot of the best modder teams are now switching to rfactor, which means new mods might start to disappear (but not for a year or 2 i imagine)

these are the different mods listed on racesimulations http://www.racesimulations.com/F1C/downloads/291.html

some are better than others though, just a case of trial and error.
expect to pay through the nose though on ebay for this game.

just ask if youve any other questions/need help

LFS is the best if you have a decent wheel, the FFB you get on that game is amazing.
rFactor is ok but not as good as LFS in terms of FFB, however with wide variety of mods like imprezza and Evo, even the nurburgring course it sure does want to make me play.

Also, Race 07 which you can get on Steam is a fun play.

PC Racin Sim...hmm

I've heard the force feedback in GTR2 is meant to be the best? (heard from a few G25 users)

I have a logitech g25 wheel bought from overclockers and yes GTR2 is amazing using this wheel.
You can use the clutch and six speed and reverse gearchange control in this game.
The force feedback is excellent as well.
For race sims like this you need a good wheel.
The g25 is not cheap but its worth every penny if you are into race games.
